Brantley said he had not heard anything about that and did not say whether those players practiced. Gators coach Urban Meyer is not scheduled to talk to reporters until Thursday.
Mike Pouncey is not too fond of current freshman class
When you’re a top tier team like the Florida Gators, the incoming recruiting classes almost always need to be taken down a peg. After all, every one of these players were the big man on campus just a couple of months ago.
But they’re not in high school anymore. And this year’s freshman class at Florida is especially cocky, if you ask offensive lineman Mike Pouncey.
Here were his answers to three separate questions about the current freshman class.
“At the end of the day the freshmen need to just shut their mouths and just come play. They haven’t done nothing on Saturday, and most of the fans don’t even know who they are. Until they prove themselves they just need to sit back and let the older guys play.”
“That whole recruiting class is just cocky.”
“You always want to shut them up. I hate when guys come in and talk too much and don’t show nothing on the field. But with this great recruiting class all of them played good, it’s just time for them to shut up and play on Saturday.”
There’s video of Pouncey’s rant after the jump.
