This unseasonably hot weather in SF is helping a lot of balls go over the fence this series.

Bailey was hitting the strike zone well that 1st inning, with several different pitches. Good sign.

Bailey is getting squeezed by Hirschbeck on a lot of calls. Not making bad pitches by any means, just not getting the calls.

Drew Stubbs takes a ball to the wall and Burrell misplays it and 2 runs score

7-1 Reds

... Wild Pitch after trying to Intentionally Walk Janish and the pitcher drops the ball and the runner scores 8-1

Bumgarner's final act was either a WP on an attempt at an intentional base on balls, or and error for not holding on to the ball after tagging Stubbs trying to score on the last pitch.

Should they call Janish out for running on the wrong side of the baseline?

No I think there's a rule (written or not) of like 3 feet on either side of the line.

The official scorer is looking for ways to hand out as many errors as he can in this game! Rather than what they normally do and look for ways to not give errors!

I think that is why they have that special running lane starting 45' from 1st base, for the safety of the first baseman and to prevent the runner from legally interfering with those type plays at 1B. You have to stay within the lines. On the line is okay and the foul line is actually in fair territory and you can step on that line just like if you are on the line you are in the batter's box. So the only part of the base the batter can legally touch if there is a play at first base is the width of the foul line. Janish was running way over in the grass. That collision is against the rules and it could have ended the season of the SF MVP candidate!
