A big game today, first for the series win, and second to clinch a winning road trip. Lots of righties to face the tough lefty. I'm fine with Rolen sitting out and keeping Cairo in the mix. That will mean Rolen should be the ace righty pinch hitter, and there will be lots of lefty outfielders on the bench to call on. I see they say the line-up is corrected. Was the correction Hanigan in for Hernandez? If that is so, and knowing that Hernandez was replaced by Hanigan during last nights game, does that mean Hernandez is "dinged up"?

Hopefully Gomes can bust out of this slump in a big way. LF is currently a big hole/drain in the lineup. I'd love to see Heisey get some more PT

Gomes is a liability out there, why would you put him in the 4 hole?

That is the way Dusty is! As Hal McCoy wrote earlier this week:

"With left-hander Joe Saunders pitching for Arizona and the way Jay Bruce struggles against southpaws, wouldn’t right-hander Chris Heisey be the choice for right field? Not this night. Baker stayed with Bruce and he homered for the second straight night.

Baker dropped Bruce to seventh in the batting order and he had four hits Tuesday and two Wednesday.

And how about left field? Jonny Gomes was 0 for 16, so wouldn’t Heisey be a better option for left field?

Not this night. Baker stayed with Gomes and he singled during a four-run third inning.

And he always has the choice at catcher - Ramon Hernandez or The People’s Choice, Ryan Hanigan. On this night he chose Hernandez who then provided a three-run homer in that four-run third.

Oh, yeah. He could have played Heisey in center field in place of strikeout-prone Drew Stubbs. But he didn’t. And Stubbs had two hits and two RBIs. The man(ager) has had The Magic Touch this year."

The Reds righty OF, along with Rolen's sub, didn't contribute too much to that big scoring inning in the first! In fact, Kershaw should have gone after Gomes and Heisey, rather than pitch around Gomes and go after Heisey and Hanigan! Good to jump out to a 2-0 lead in this big game. Hopefully Arroyo will bamboozal the Dodgers like he does so many opponents.

Looking good so far today. I really like to watch Arroyo pitch I'd like to see him live one day above any other Reds pitcher.

All even now thru 5 innings with both pitchers in good shape on pitch count. Just can't afford to give extra outs like Carroll got a 2nd chance after Votto couldn't turn his pop-up by the dugout into an out after battling the sun.

And Votto gets the lead back on the first AB after losing the lead on a key opposite field HR.

That might have been the most lackluster call for a tie-breaking HR by the announcer of the leading team I have ever heard. Keels didn't have any sort of excitement about the result of the play until Welsh started to. He had the same emotion as he would had Podsednik caught it.I am with those who think he isn't a very PBP guy(at least for the Reds, not a Buckeye fan).

Brilliant, brilliant job of "pitching" in the 6th by Arroyo after Theriot reaches first to lead-off the inning with a hit to the 5.5 hole. He battled and struck out the next 3 tough hitters. But the battle ended prematurely as the ump blew the last strike three call.
