I would vote for Wainright.....I would have no problems with any of the 4....what a race!

Halladay has 8 complete games and only 25 walks.....his numbers are just crazy...he also has a Perfect Game winning 1-0. He is 4-0 in August. In his 27 stats there is only 4 games he did not pitch 7 innings.

I voted for Wainright ... that guy flat-out has the nastiest stuff in baseball, and he is putting it all together this season.
PS, his series ending, knee-buckling curveball that struck out Carlos Beltran in the '06 NLCS still haunts my dreams.

Ray Halladay has been the best imo. No bad stretches. Same could be said for the others outside (amazingly) Ubaldo. But Halladay has just been better during the great stretches.
Like I92 though, I would have zero problem with anyone winning, although I think Hudson is slightly behind the other 3.

Latos of SD is an outsider with a shot.
Hudson has been awesome all year.

Why is Ubaldo Jimenez on this list on not Josh Johnson? Johnson has better numbers than Jimenez and Tim Hudson. Wait, lemme guess....because Josh Johnson doesn't play on a contender? Wait a tick, didn't Zack Greinke win a Cy Young award last season?

Put Johnsons's numbers up there....we'll consider him
Grienke had the great numbers without many wins (for a Cy anyways)....but no one else really ran away from him on a contender
IMO...unless I'm way off on what Johnson's stats are I'd have him in the Latos/Hudson range.....but they'd get the nod as they are contenders
I know wins are a stat with luck involved....but you cannot overlook 17 wins to 10
Should've Nolan Ryan won the CY in 1987?

Johnsons numbers are about the same as these guys. But his team blows and thus the wins arent there.

I voted for Wainwright, but you could add his teammate Carpenter to the list as he is having a great second half. He was dominate against the Giants and their best pitcher, lastnight.

Gotta be Wainwright, although Hudson has been dominate over the last 2 months outside of 1 bad outing against the Brewers.
