When is it coming to Cincinnati? It's supposed to be here before the end of 2010.

I'm excited to test it out and will now turn my 4g radio on to scan the area more often while in and around the Columbus area...

when I first moved into my house it was a deadspot, today I get 3G all over the house. There are a few places i don't get coverage, but neither does anyone else.

For what its worth, I've been doing a little more reading on this.
Saw another poster claim Sprint's 4G is really 3.5G....I think WiMax II may be true 4G. Supposedly, LTE is going to be a more widely adopted standard, and VZW is making plans to connect all your wireless stuff (like when all your electronics and appliances have WiFi). I don't fully understand the differences, but supposedly the spectrum VZW has rights to has better range and penetration than Sprints (which I'm sure VZW paid a premium for, and probably why we pay more for a better service), in addition to LTE being superior to WiMaxI
Again, I don't know if Sprint will be upgrading to the new standard, but average speeds of their 3.5G is supposed to be something like 2.5-5Mbps while VZW's tests of LTE users are reporting averages of 5-12Mbps. That's significant because it becomes a true broadband alternative capable of streaming HD tv and movies.
VZW wins again - http://money.cnn.com/2010/02/23/technology/4g_networks/
"The No. 3 wireless carrier, Sprint Nextel (S, Fortune 500), claims to have a 4G network in place based on a different technology called WiMAX, though WiMAX is actually just an enhanced 3G technology. With more than 50 global carriers pledging to unveil LTE networks, some analysts have speculated that Sprint will likely commit to building its own LTE network in the near future."
The other interesting point in that article is to be considered 4G, it has to be capable of at least 100Mbps, but obviously they throttle down users so they have the bandwidth to avoid service issues. But I wonder if in the future, as more towers and pipes are put in place, if we don't eventually get 4G speeds of 25-50Mbps.

I think you are mistaken sir. I pay $65 per month for 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited everything else, free tethering, the fastest network in Ohio, and coverage everywhere Verizon has coverage. Tell me again how it sucks?

I have t-mobile and I get service in the middle of nowhere Wyoming where Verizon people can't. The phones are cheap, the plans are great (I have unlimited data, sms, mms, etc. and 1000 minutes and I pay less than $90), and their customer service is second to none. I have never had to wait on hold for more than 30 seconds or so.

??
T-Mobiles customer service is horrible. They ALWAYS screwed up our bills and would claim to fix them... Then we got our next months bill and the problems were still there. Rinse and repeat this for about 3 or 4 months, before they FINALLY credited back everything and gave us the option to leave early with no ETF, which I GLADLY took.
I have never experienced so much BS from a cell phone company before.
Besides, I'm quite happy with my Sprint plan for $69.99 a month, which gets me unlimited mobile to mobile on ANY network, unlimited data, unlimited text, nights starting at 7, yearly upgrade at 2 year discount, etc...

4g is live in downtown columbus... I'm at broad and high street and stopped for the thousands of bikers for pelotonia. I read online that 4g was coming from somewhere near Grant hospital but getting it around broad street and high street.

No, that is my INFORMED opinion having used them for 1 year and some odd months too many. Nothing but trouble and the coverage wasn't that great in my area, lacking 3G during my time of use.
I regretted ever signing up with them.
