Reports out of Ann Arbor say he suffered a lower leg injury. He was taken to the hospital. It's believed to be a dislocated ankle.
Troy is a returning starter at CB.
If true, a BIG BLOW for the Wolverines.
Praying for you Troy!!
GO BLUE!!!!

??? that's what happened to stefon johnson the other night. Also an OSU player suffered a dislocated ankle on tv in the spring game years ago. he was on his back and lifted his leg up and his toes were pointing to the gound.

Also, this sucks for Michigan. Haven't they lost their top defensive back recruits each year over the past several? They have to be pretty thin back there right?

^ Nope I didn't see that. I have seen broken ankles that have looked plain nasty. Must be one in the same, or I misinterpreted broken ankles when they were really dislocated.

well the ankle is a joint, so just like every other joint it can dislocate or you can break bones within the joint. they are 2 different injuries

Ya, the cornerback position has been unkind to Michigan as of late. J.T. Turner (5 star, 2009) left team last week, Demar Dorsey (4 star, 2010) denied by admissions, Boubacar Cissoko (5 star, 2008) kicked off team, Adrian Witty (4 star on some recruiting sites, 2009) denied by admissions.karen lotz;454579 wrote:Also, this sucks for Michigan. All of these players were highly recruited, and expected to contribute. Michigan's defensive backfield will be young, very young now.

Well that hopefully will lead to a long afternoon for the Maize and Blue in South Bend in a month

Definitely a big blow to the Maize and Blue today. Depth is more the issue than Troy being great, he was ok, not great. But his leadership on the field was proving to be big this year, and that will be missed. Now we must rely on very young, inexperienced talent.
I was worried about the secondary before. Now it's beyond worried.

Looking good for ND. Is there any good news coming from UM camp this year? I hope they can at least beat ND.

Good bye RichRod. Even if the offense is the best in the country, the defense will lose us a lot of games this year.

I haven't heard too much. Someone tweeted that Forcier didn't have the wings on his helmet because players have to earn them. Not good for your returning starting QB.

From everything I've heard, Denard Robinson has really improved and will be the starter vs UConn.

Actually I think things were sounding pretty good in camp until this injury. The attitude amongst players and coaches is night and day from the previous 2 years. Senior leadership is really happening this year. Tate seems to have struggled with some issues but the coaches and players are pushing him.
Everyone that goes to practice says Robinson looks the best, and that Gardner will be the real deal and could see the field this season. I'd rather have Robinson/Forcier with Gardner red shirting, but RRod needs to do whatever he can to win. So I would be surprised if that happens.
The O-line and D-lines looks pretty stout and they have a decent receiving core. The running backs have a quite a few capable and competing, but I'd like to see one surge ahead and be the go to guy. They are all young though.
The 2 main areas of concern are the secondary and linebackers. The secondary has been obliterated. Since the last season, virtually every starter is gone for one reason or another. As for linebackers, Craig Roh will be a force to be reckoned with, but the rest are questionable. If they can have a solid year, it would be a tremendous boost to the defense. If not, coupled with the weak secondary, they could be in trouble.
I really think if UM can win 8 games this year, the future is bright with this group. IF.

The D-Line better be a real force this year to protect that secondary.

Not sure why people think UM can't win 7-8 this year. They were 4 points from being 7-5 LAST year, and this year's team is better.

In some areas yes they are better...(about have to be)...but I don't think they will be better at any position defensively.....This defense if in a pass happy conference would go down as the worst defense ever.
But fortunately for them they play in the Big 10 (more balanced) Over/under on PPG allowed...somewhere around 36

Michigan is going to have to win a few shootouts this season. Not really any question about that. Hope the offense is up to the task and that the defense can manage a couple of stops, at least. Gonna be another very ugly season if not.
