As a Texans tix holder, I was sad to see Rosenfels leave but was happy he was going to get a chance to be a starter (prior to the Favre thing of course).
But since he got there the Vikings have shown (for some unknown reason) a crazy support for Trevaris Jackson. I don't get it....Rosenfels is a quality QB..he is not elite and will make a poor decision now and then...but he is head and shoulders better than Jackson.

Rosenfels always seemed very inconsistent...although I am not real familiar with him. Tavaris Jackson is awful, but for some reason, the Vikings have always been hung up on him.

Tarvaris threw for 9 TD and 2 INT in 2008, with a QB rating of 95.4. He only attempted 21 passes last year, but completed 14 of them with a TD and 0 INT.
I think it's pretty obvious why Minnesota is giving him a chance over a guy who threw 10 INT to only 6 TD in 2008 (while single-handedly blowing a game against the Colts) and didn't attempt a single pass last season.

I always thought he should've been the starter somewhere in the NFL.
He does a good job running the offense and usually has good poise, the Indy debacle not withstanding.
Although he did help them get that big lead in the first place before the Colts rallied.
If he was the starting quarterback for the Vikings this season, with the team they have around him, I predict they'll at least make the divisional playoffs.

If Favre doesn't come back, I think both guys will get a fair shot to seize the spot. But yes, the Vikings seem more interested in Jackson who really is young so it's not fair to judge him yet.

The only memory I have of Sage playing is that late meltdown vs Indy a few years back when he came in in relief. Though TJackson helped take Minny top the playoffs he is not an NFL starting QB. he doesn't have it.
But to your question its because running the team is a coach who allowed 12 men in the huddle with the SB on the line....An idiot in other words. A jackass if you'd like.

Thank you. I'm not real sure why Jackson gets such a bad rep. He's a pretty solid dual threat QB who is still very young and raw.

Think Tavaris will be a good qb and the way he had handled himself he deserves the first crack.
