Who gives a fuck? You think Ray Lewis hates the Bengals and Steelers and thinks they are bitches? I love it that Votto and Phillips have came out and said the shit that we all think as well. I hate the Cardinals too and I give BP credit for coming out and saying it. Fuck the Cardinals.

I love Brandon Phillips! He does interviews with some Columbus radio guys pretty regularly, and he's always highly interesting to listen to. Definitely someone who speaks his mind.

I have no problem with it. We all hate the Cardinals and at least BP is showing a fight. Better than being a p*ssy like Larussa and trying to turn it into him hating Rolen, Edmonds, etc. That's a p*ssy move if you ask me.

I don't mind guys speaking their mind like this, he just better be able to back up what he is saying. Calling a team that has dominated the division for a better part of a decade a bunch of bitches might not be the best thing to do, especially when your team is trying to earn respect.

Yeah, I don't mind some competitive smack talk, but not when your team hasn't won dick, and the Cards have won 7 division titles and 1 World Series this decade. If they are bitches, then what are the Reds? Not hating on the Reds -- shit, I root for the biggest bitch team in baseball (Mets) -- but this just makes Phillips look foolish.

After saying this I wouldn't be surprised if the Cards are comfortably ahead or behind LaRussa bringing in Jason Motte to make Phillips ribs sore.

and for what it's worth....he's dead on describing Chris Carpenter....but the problem is Carpenter is 6'6......bitchy and one of the 3 best pitchers in baseball....some things are better left kept to oneself or within the clubhouse



ANy of you watch the ESPN telecast last night when Carpenter was ripping Brendon Ryan for delaying his starts some 30 seconds??? Then was fuming mad when he gave up the run that went through where the SS typically plays but the scouting reports sucked for the pitch call/defense....it was 7-0....get over yourself a touch. Just from what I've viewed over the past 2 seasons I've lost a lot of respect for Carpenter.

As a Pirates fan, I mildly disagree. The Mets are a HUGEASS bitch team considering how much money they spend to go nowhere nowadays, but when you have as many losing seasons in a row as the Low-rates, NO ONE is a bigger bitch.

I SORT OF understand the issue in the first inning. But dear God, Carpenter, YOU ARE NOT GOD'S GIFT TO BASEBALL. Ryan messed up(or did he?). But yeah, up 7-0 and you give up a run on a hard hit ball.

Do you really think it will take that long for BP to get some chin music? Garcia should stick one in his ear in his first AB and then dare him to do something about it.

Of course, LaRussa won't allow that to happen, as a bench-clearing brawl could result in Garcia getting tossed. I do expect to see some sort of message being sent to Phillips tonight, though. Perhaps some hard slides into 2nd to break up the DP would send the same message as well.

Seriously, though, I think Brandon is just showing some frustration at going 0-for last night.
