I'm strongly considering taking my son down Wed afternoon. My question is........will this game be sold out? If so is it a pretty safe thing to head on down and buy from scalpers?

Any suggestions about buying from outside the stadium is appreciated.

Personally, I don't believe it will be sold out for a 12:35 game with 95 degree temperatures.....but with the Reds play the past 10 years I don't have much experience in this.

Depends where you want to sit, they should have plenty of the $14 upper level seats available. After that you will probably have to spend about $35, everything in between usually sells out when they get close to 35k.

Scalpers won't sell below face this year until after first pitch unless you want singles.

Buy a $5 bleacher seat then move closer about half way thru the game.

Or maybe he could go to Staples Center, buy 2 tickets for $2500, then look (through expensive shades) at his blackberry the whole time?

FWIW, tuesday's game I bought $18 tickets in the bleachers (not 5 dollars). The upper level seats were going for $27.

It could definitely be different for a day game though.

Why did you pay so much? You can still get upper level seats for $14 on reds.com behind home.

I guess I shouldn't say I bought them, but rather I got them for that much. My boss is taking me. Maybe there was a 4 dollar online fee? I don't know haha

thanks for the info....not sure on whether to battle the heat or not......I'm going next Saturday vs the Marlins but won't have many other opportunities and I wasnt my son to enjoy it.....but blistering sun seats won't be enjoyable for the kid no matter how the game goes.

He could do that but he would miss the Reds game.

He just turned 7.

If it's not memorable for him then it will be miserable for him. I know I should put my own needs first.......but I'm going to leave it up to the kid.

We're definately going down....the little one turned down early golf and cart and Reds in air conditioning to going to the game in the 97 degree blistering heat.

My 7 year old is a freaking trooper!

My daughter walked up tonight and bought a $14 ticket behind home plate up top. The altercation was going on when she walked up, but a ticket agent came away from the TVs long enough to sell the tickets. I went with her earlier in the summer for an afternoon game and it was nice in the shade up there with a breeze and I love that perspective watching the game. 37,000 were there tonight.

Scalpers were getting crushed tonight, all of em had stacks of tickets for sale. I saw 1 guy with about 40 tickets selling em for $5 each at 7pm. They were asking $20 for lower level so I'm assuming you could get them for less than that. Tomorrow should be no different, 333seat really overestimated the attendance for this series.

I bought 2 $10 400 level tickets outside at 11:40 and we sat about 40 feet from the foul pole in foul territory of the visitor side (bottom section) (the guy in front of us cuaght the Pujols foul line drive in the 3rd inning

....after rain delay we sat in the front row right behind the dugout for 2 innings.....Hanigan tossed my 7- year old the ball that struck out Rasmus in the top of the 9th to end the inning.....THOSE were nice seats!....other than Heisey nearly killing us.
