It didn't come soon enough. Cleveland fans will always find a reason to hate.

Why should Cleveland fans accept it? How genuine was it really? He did it after the fact Z did it and after the fact people bitched about him not thanking Cleveland while he thanked Akron. Also it took him about a month to thank Cleveland... Just seems like damage control to me. It was more like a "oh yeah, and Cleveland fans, thank you too."

Everyone can go fuck themselves. If you think he handled things in a way that Cleveland fan shouldn't be pissed, I bet you are the same person that lets doors slam in peoples faces in public places. Maybe I'm old school(26 years old) or maybe my parents just raised me right(lucky to have both?) but there is a way to do leave and he did it wrong. If he was going to thank the fans of Cleveland he should have done it right after he ripped their hearts out in his hour television event.

I guess they do things different in Logan, OH. I understand he didn't pick Cleveland, but those fans are the ones who were buying his jersey and buying his shoes, his fat head...they are the ones padding his bank account, without them he doesn't have a job. I don't care that he left and most fans don't they care about the way he left.

I'm pretty sure if Cleveland didn't pick him he would have found employment with the team who had the the 2nd pick.

Nah..but we do it different here in Massillon.
And those fans are the ones that pissed on him the first chance they got when they let him down. IE..after the playoffs..he was a no good piece of shit for quite a while.

How can you watch that playoff series and think that was the same guy that played the prior 4 years of playoff series? He didn't tank but he did quit.

Not a Cavs fan..so..I didn't watch the series. But the way everyone acted after that, seriously, who could blame the guy for leaving?

Lebron dont owe Cleveland fans anything. He was an employee that worked for a business located in Cleveland. He decided to take his talents to a business located in another city. Get over it losers. No one wants to play in your shithole. Ask Chris Bosh. hahaha

I agree. As a follower of this team for many decades I "moved on" the day after the playoff loss. Not all fans are haters or really care what LeBron James does or doesn't do in the newspapers or even* when he does it.

In retrospect, LeBron should have explained things to the fans in Cleveland. He should have been honest and direct in explaining the reasons for leaving. These same fans bought the tickets and merchandise which helped him to make millions while he played in Cleveland.
Unfortunately, he didn't do any of this. I'm willing to chalk it up to youth and immaturity. Maybe some day he will grow and understand the effects of his decision on so many in N.E. Ohio.
But, life goes on. He now plays for the Heat while those of us who are still Cavs fans still have a team to root for. We have a long history in Cleveland and now it's time to add to that history with other players. Nothing LeBron does in the future will merit my interest, but at the same time I do not wish him any ill will.

What the fuck wasn't honest and direct about saying, I WANT TO WIN A BUNCH O' DAMN CHAMPIONSHIPS???? Oh and...he acknowledged Cleveland a few times, too.stlouiedipalma;446543 wrote:In retrospect, LeBron should have explained things to the fans in Cleveland. "I think the major factor and the major reason in my decision was the best opportunity for me to win and to win now and to win into the future also."
"But you have to put yourself in the right position to be able to compete and also accomplish the goals that you set out for."
"Like I said before, I feel like it's going to give me the best opportunity to win and to win for multiple years, and not only just to win in the regular season or just to win five games in a row or three games in a row, I want to be able to win championships. And I feel like I can compete down there."
"I mean, those 20,000 plus fans that came out every night we played, and they seen me grow from an 18 year old kid to a 25 year old man. And I never wanted to leave Cleveland. And my heart will always be around that area. But I also felt like this is the greatest challenge for me is to move on."
"And I feel like we have a great chance of winning and winning for multiple years."
"Like I said before, this is a very emotional time for me. I know it's emotional for the fans and also for the area. And if it was a perfect world, I would have loved to stay, because I've done so many great things for that team, they've done so many great things for me. But I feel like it's time to change."
