An Ohio team playing an Ohio team and Texas teams playing Texas teams. Seems to me that the arrangement diminishes the value of this rally.

LOL...Dido. Wasn't this called the Ohio vs. USA challenge at one time?

The first couple of years, before they added the Texas sites.

Dwyer is Florida 5A defending champs, sent 3 to the Gators and a handful more to other D1 schools. They still have Jack Nicklaus' grandson, Nicklaus O'Leary. Best TE around.
I'll see Skyline the week before.
4 game showcase in my local stadium Aug 26-27.
Daytona Beach Mainland vs. West Point, (Miss) , Aug 26
Aug 27
Dallas (Tx) Skyline vs. Belle Glade(Fl) Glades Central
Twiggs County (Ga.) vs Belle Glade Glades Day
Olive Branch (Miss) vs Cocoa (Fl)
The "Florida vs. The USA" event will pack a ton of star power. Two teams from Belle Glade, Glades Central and Glades Day, have each won six state championships, with Glades Day beating Daytona Warner Christian in overtime for last year's Class 1B crown.
Cocoa High has won 24 straight games and is the two-time Florida Class 2A champ. Dallas Skyline is a perennial powerhouse from Texas that had nine players sign with Division I programs last season. West Point was the 5A state champion in Mississippi in 2009. Olive Branch (Miss.) has lost only nine games in the last four years, while Twiggs County (Ga.) is a strong program at the 1A level.

Exactly. So why are they getting away from it? I can watch Ohio teams play Ohio teams all year long, which I do. I want to see how we pair up against the Florida teams, sending all those young men to D1 schools. Need to bring more of it back to Ohio.

I thought it was either lack of interest from teams or lack of revenue, I forget.

I can't see it being a lack of interest from teams. Had to have been revenue. The first couple years I felt like I was the only one in the stadiums. Need to get more of the sucessfull programs in the state involved. Not just the big D1 schools. Big Red brings a rowdy, I mean large, crowd with them anywhere they play. I would just like to see it get big time in NE ohio!

Big Red is playing in two rallies this year. One will be in Pittsburgh at a rally that pits major Western PA teams against teams from around the country. The other rally will be in Steubenville on September 25. St. Ignatius will play Don Bosco out of New Jersey, the defending national high school champion. Big Red will play Morgantown, WV, and Wheeling Central will play Bridgeport. We are expecting 10,000 people at the Rally in Death Valley. We are hoping that this will become an annual event.

It wasn't lack of Ohio teams interested, I think it was getting that many teams from around the country to all come to Ohio and play.
The original format was all the games in Ohio (at least 8 of them), and each game was an Ohio vs US setup. For whatever the reason happened to be, that didn't work at all. Splitting the sites between Ohio and Texas helped that some, but there are still 2 TX vs. TX games (out of 4 in TX), and 2 OH vs. OH games (out of 4 in OH) this year. I doubt they are diluting it just for the heck of it, either teams don't want to and/or can't afford to make the trips.

Will be a nice weekend for me. See a game on Friday somewhere. Watching the Rally at the Wolvarena (Big Red vs. McKeesport), and then I'll see the two doubleheaders in Columbus on Sunday and Monday.
At least I won't probably be in a stadium from 10am to 1am like I was last year.

This has really gone downhill. At first it was this "Ohio vs. USA" thing which was pretty cool. Like people have already said you can see Ohio teams play Ohio teams every week. What people want to see is the elite teams from the country come and play Ohio teams.

The ticket covers both, but nothing is mentioned about re-entry on the site though.

Thank you sir!
Indiana's regular season started last night. Plainfield won their opener. I feel pretty confident going into this game, but Plainfield will have two advantages. They'll be sleeping in their own beds the night before the game and they'll have one real game under their belts. Scouting reports I've heard say Plainfield is big... several 270+ lb linemen. They run I-formation.... pound it down your throat kind of football. We'll see.

I think there will be some good matchups and the games will end up being competitive. there were too many sites going early on and too many people wanting to see all the games but were unable to
