The Cubs series is over...sweep

Tomorrow on ESPN....Chris Carpenter 12-3 2.81 certifiable CY Young winner and Reds killer will go to battle versus Mike Leake who is 7-3

The Braves series was huge...this one will double that one in excitement.

The big boys must step up and lead the way.

Cannot free swing at Carpenter...WORK HIM! or he'll make the Reds look like the Cubs dealing with Wood.

I'd be shocked if the Cards manage to win 1 game.

I'd be shocked if you would bet a significant amount of real money on that one.

The Reds should aim for 2 of 3, but this is by no means a make or break series. They have some tough matchups ahead of them. 2 of 3 will be quite an accomplishment IMO.

I'd be stoked if we won 2/3. Facing thier 3 best pitchers is gonna be tough. BUT the cards set thier staff up for this series. If we take 2/3 and are 4 games up. The cards will be pressing the panic but at least lightly. Though we do have the dreaded west coast trip up next.

That would put us 3 games up.

Realistically I think only 1 win this series. I'd be pumped for 2. 3 seems impossible.

Reds would be lucky to win more than one game in this series. Even with their high scoring offense runs will be hard to get in games 1 and 3 of the series.

A sweep either way won't be as important towards making the playoffs as much as the upcoming trips (s) to the west coast

Agreed. I really think our biggest problem with be getting swept out in LA.

Oh, and one more time I am thrilled to be blacked out of the ESPN coverage tomorrow so I can listen to Welsh and Brennamen.

Yeah, I hate that too.... For once I'd love to hear the what the National broadcasters have to say about the Reds other than the 2 minutes we get on SportsCenter a week

Not that it will happen, but a sweep of the Cards and the Reds could go 3-6 on their trip and still most likely be up a couple in the division. You can't undervalue head to head matchups.
