Yes British engineers have developed a car that runs on shit.

http://www.greenexplored.com/2010/08/british-engineers-develop-feces-powered.htmlExcrement flushed down the loos (toilets) of just 70 homes is enough to drive it 10,000 miles - a year's average motoring.

Won't happen, the environmental/air polution wackos won't allow it to happen.
There are ways to turn trash into energy, electricity, liquid fuel (like ethanol), but the EPA won't allow it.
Their reason? They believe any process that involves trash/waste and fire is an incinerator and "those are 'bad', they create many air polutants".
In other words the EPA has no clue what they are talking about, they just assume.
This car is a great idea, just like the processes than can turn any organic trash (wood, cardboard, plastic, food scraps, etc) into ethanol type fuel.
But the wackos won't let it happen.

Let me rephrase this for you. The BIG OIL companies won't allow it, with the support of the government, and it will be pushed on the environmental wackos.
I'm sorry, but I think that there is valuable technology out there that we'll never see b/c big oil won't let it happen.

I have worked for and with the EPA on many projects and have worked with companies who have patents on technologies that can and do turn trash into liquid fuels similar to ethanol.
I am not wrong on this, you can throw your "Big Oil" scare tactic out there all you want, I've actually WORKED on these technologies in a research and development situation.
Trust me, its not Big Oil that shuts down trash to fuel plants, its the EPA people who have no idea what the plant actually does. They just assume because trash comes in and fire is involved at one point or another (just to heat things up, not to burn the trash) it has to be a trash incinerator.
However, don't let facts get in the way of your biased opinions. I have worked on these technologies and watched first hand the EPA shut them down, have you worked in the BioFuels world?
And please, about Big Oil, you know that the biggest private investor in biofuels is "Big Oil"? The first thing they would do if a viable (aka profitable) biofuel actually came about, is buy it and then sell it to us like they do oil.

When it comes to chemistry and fuels? Yup, I know my stuff, been working in R&D on fuels, biofuels, etc for 5+ years now and have my Masters in Chem Eng on the stuff.

Because you have an extremely biased opinion, if something doesn't seem "kosher" in the fuel industry is just HAS to be "Big Oil"s fault.
The technology that is out there to turn any organic trash (wood, plastic, food, etc) into fuel is currently being used to make liquids that are sprayed on food to give it a "smoke" flavor.
I'm not kidding, your "smoked turkey" lunch meat is really just a liquid sprayed onto your turkey. They take wood, "liquify" it through the process I'm talking about that can be used to turn trash into fuel, and then sell it to the cold cut companies to give food the "smokey" flavor. Your smoked turkey isn't really smoked during processing.
Another big company that uses this liquified wood is Burger King, their grill "marks" on their hamburgers come already "pre-sprayed" on from one of these "wood" sprays. BG might use a real flame grill, but they are just heating it up, the grill lines come pre-sprayed on.
The same company that is processing these liquified wood products has the patent to turn all organic trash into fuel, but its the EPA "oh no its an incinerator" folks who won't let them.

Perhaps.
And also... just a different one. Is that OK?

Different opinions are ok. However, when an opinion is based on just a presupposition with no evidence to back it up and can not even be altered when that presupposition is shown to be false by facts/evidence, I just find it interesting. That is all.

Will filling stations change name from "Stop n' Go" to "Go n' Go"? And will ETB become a protected natural resource?
