I'm relocating to Charlotte on the 20th and I was wondering if any other OC members lived there. I know a little about the area and I am moving close to South Park Mall (Colony Rd.) but I was curious as to where some cool places are. I've already heard that Strike City in Uptown is the Buckeye bar but that's about it.

Hey, welcome (soon) to Charlotte! I moved here in January from Seattle, was born/raised in Ohio. Good job moving to the South Park area, very nice! I'm off Providence Road close to the Arboretum if that helps you any. As far as downtown, every Thursday and Friday nights there is Alive After 5 at the Epicentre and also at South Park. The two times I have been to it have been a lot of fun. Panthers games will be starting here shortly as well. Strike City IS the Buckeye bar, hit me up if you want to go watch them :)

Thanks for the welcome! I actually saw the Alive After 5 going on last week. I stayed at the Aloft @ Epicentre for my girlfriends birthday that night opposed to my friends living room and his air mattress. Definitely seems like a nice place. I just googled the Arboretum and I actually drove past there one day. It's right down the road from the largest church I have ever seen that's on Pineville Matthews. I'll definitely remember to hit you up for the Bucks games. I also heard that they allow open container Uptown for Panthers games so that should get pretty crazy.

I know they allowed open containers when I was down there in 2008 for the WVU bowl game. 'Twas awesome.

The fourth-annual World of Outlaws World Finals is scheduled for Nov. 4 - 6 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The three-day event brings together dirt track racing's three premier divisions the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and the Big-Block Modifieds from the Super DIRTcar Series - to end their seasons and crown their champions.

skip the Nascar shit and go to this event.

Yep that's the name of it! Glad to hear of all the fun stuff to do in the area. Just let me know about the games this fall and I'm there.

Though I am new to posting here- I also live in the Charlotte area- albeit in Indian Trail. My wife and I are also going to be looking for people to watch the Buckeye games and Browns games with...

Welcome to CLT it is a great area and you will definitely enjoy it!

As a side note QueencityBuckeye's location is Charlotte. I know Charlotte's nickname is the same as Cincinnati. (The Queen City) His name always threw me for a loop making me think he was in my area.

I'm guessing the only free night we'll have is that Friday as the wedding is the next day and we're flying out that Sunday. Then again BAB seems up for ditching the reception to watch some OSU football. Fine with me!

Me and the roommates will be heading down Charlotte for the Bengals game in Sept. Will def look you all up, should be a nice time in the Queen City of the south.
