Well, yesterday morining I woke up around 6am with severe pain in my stomach, and went to the Dublin Methodist hospital. After a bunch of testing (around 10 tests), and them giving me a narcotic with they explained was vicodin x100, they determined that my appendix was severley and it almost ruptured/burst. So after 2 hours at being here, I was already having surgery, and when I woke up for the anstesia(sp?), I freaked out and did a bunch of weird stuff. When I got to my room, i was in and out of sleep all day and night. Now I get to go home in a little while, and I get some strong Perks for pain meds. Plus I can't do my job for a while sincemy adominal wall was cut open. Thought you all might enjoy that haha.

Damn man...good thing you got in when you did. A burst appendix is nothing to fuck with!

Here's to a quick recovery. And if you don't finish them and need to get rid of those Perks...lemme know.

My ruptured my sophomore year in college a day after returning from Spring Break. We had a basketball workout with a killer ab workout and that night I went into some funk where I thought I was dieing. I remember not being able to breath right and just freezing, I looked at the clock and said if this goes on for 10 minutes I'm going to have to call 911." Well after 10 minutes it stopped and I proceeded to the bathroom and got sick.

Next day I felt horrible and it felt like I tore a muscle in my stomach but I attributed it to the ab workout from the day before. I went from Monday night through Friday doing all our basketball workouts and not missing a class, but being in pretty severe pain. I came home to Columbus on Saturday for the NCAA tourney games at Nationwide and got sick that night.

I finally decided to go to the ER and they said that if my appendix had ruptured I wouldn't have been able to last a week, so they ruled that out. They were close to sending me home for a pulled muscle when they did one final test, and it was a ruptured appendix.

Spend 4 days in the hospital. Went in weighing 230 lbs and left weighing 183 lbs. My clothes didn't fit and it was by far the worst pain I've ever experienced. Doctors were shocked that I was doing weight lifting and working out with the basketball team.

Now I have about a 7 inch scar below the belly button, but they said since I was so lean and in such good shape the rupture basically stayed in place and it was easy to cleanup.

So, there's my story.

I know, I know, cool story bro.

I had my appendix out when I was 20. Got home from work around 6pm, didn't feel real good. Woke up next morning, headed to hospital and had the op and was back in my room by noon. Same feeling as you regarding waking up. My girlfriend (now wife) said I woke up and said all kinds of goofy stuff.

A friend was sick 5 years ago or so, went to the hospital and was told his appendix had likely ruptured somewhere around a year earlier and that his insides were basically full or a slimy mold type of stuff. He looked back at work records and had taken 3 days off almost exactly a year earlier. They were shocked that he lived thru it, and the mess they had to clean up inside him was far worse than any appendetomy. He was in the hosptial for 4 or 5 days.

You gained 53 lbs? That would be intense. But losing 47 would also be crazy.....

Sorry, meant that I left weighing 183. Lost 47 lbs in basically 10 days. I still remember looking in the mirror and noticing how my body totally transformed. Also remember it being a chore just walking down the hospital hallway because I was so sick and so sore.

Don't play grab-ass with the nurses - they'll pee in your IV.
