I am really getting tired of threads getting derailed by idiots. Trolling doesn't bother me nearly as much as two or more people getting into a bitchfest that completely knocks a thread off target. I believe that is one thing that is driving people away more than anything. I am not willing to ban swearing so the people turned off by that will just have to get over it.

For non-HS forums:
1. No personal attacks or unwarranted name-calling.
2. No pornographic material.

For HS forums:
1. No swearing.
2. No personal attacks or name-calling.
3. No rumor spreading/baseless accusations

I can't remember the other HS rules that we had.

If you have any suggestions or concerns on the non-HS forum rules let's discuss it.

I think we had something about rumor spreading/baseless accusations (eg. recruiting and stuff) on the HS ones.
Also, make sure the HS ones has no personal attacks listed too... Steubenville fans need to be reminded of it often.

I can't remember if we had anything here regarding talking about the lives of HS athletes off the field or not. I know that other site did, but I forget what we had.

For the HS forums, are we considering stuff like hell or damn as swearing (those seem to have been a little desensitized over the years), or does it have to be something more colorful (ass, bitch, fuck, etc.)?

I do like the idea of a forum for those morons who feel like e-fighting and just let it go so long as there are no threats or anything. Thoughts on that?

1. No Commanders of Awesome allowed.
2. Same goes for Capone/Modell.
3. Peace out, everyone else!

Those were the only 3 rules we had for the HS forums. Hell and damn is about all I let go as far as swearing. Everything else I just edit out.

Definitely like the idea of a fighting for all the 'ethugs'. Whether it would work or not, I dunno.

I think it would work. Once a thread goes off of the deep end, a mod can exile it to Siberia (the dumbass ebitch forum) and they can continue to threadshit it to death. Then, if someone wanted to recreate said thread topic on the normal forums hopefully it would go on without a hitch.

That LeBron Heat Jersey to the Jake thread is just asking to be the first thread exiled.

In seriousness, the only two things (as far as non HS forums go) I look at as negative are trolls/threadshitters and the people who have to talk shit about anything and NEVER let anything lie.

It turns into a chicken/egg deal when those groups get together on a thread where you don't care what came first...you just want to kill everyone involved. One side's pathetic because they get off on pissing people off; the other side's pathetic because they SNAP every time the first side trolls and turns a stupid-ass troll comment into a shitstorm.

I think mtrulz should be restricted to ONLY being allowed to post on the site's specific "post-pad" threads. Nothing else.

well, i don't think it should be posted in the rules, or that we are really going to have a problem with it, but if anyone ever posts asking if someone can run a carfax for them, the post needs to be deleted asap. Carfax is on a rampage and is suing forums over that.

carfax is suing forums for allowing posts like that.

bump. I installed an "Advanced rules" mod that allows a link to the rules to be prominently displayed and also allows me to make everyone "accept" the rules before they can continue to post.

If you hover your mouse just to the right of the "invite friends" link you can click the hidden link that will take you to the rules as they currently stand.

I like the idea of forcing everyone to accept the rules. That way you KNOW everyone saw the rules at least once.

How do those rules look to everyone?

I don't really like the default text that displays below the rules.

You mean the "breaking the rules is subject to a warning/ban" or whatever it is in the bottom grey bar?

It should be like the vBookie if you start threads for vbucks, mantooth thong picture avatars are your "warnings"
