I don't even need to read it. Of course there are bad cops just like there are bad, rogue, etc..employees wherever it is you work. You will only hear about it when a cop does wrong, not the countless millions of things they do right, by the book, by the law, saved lives, stopped crimes, etc........my god 99.9% of cops are good and do their jobs as they should.

Lol never been to delaware before have you? what you listed is exactly why this is pathetic. Small city sot he cops are EXTREMELY strict about enforcing anything you can possibly think of by the book....But haha an officers daughter gets drunk and drills a few cars and its shrugged off.

Sounds the same to me as folks who do wrong and get upset it it's not shrugged off when things are tried to be enforced by the book. Sounds like the law enforcement isn't any different than the people of the area.

I don't blame them at all.

I for one cant believe the power that cops have. I understand about protecting themselves but these cops overstep their boundaries quite abit. I feel they should not be allowed to lie to you about anything to try and get a response in hteir favor. This girl shouldve been put in jail and given an omvi just like a normal person.

a few years ago I lost my license cause of change of address. I moved and forwarded my mail and for some reason the one important piece i needed was when the bmv wanted my proof of insurance. Well if you dont show in a certain time you lose your license. I had no clue until a cop asked my name one night and then went out to his car and ran it and found out. Instead of coming in and telling me my license were suspended he waited till i pulled out. He then pulled me over. yea i let him know all about it.

Stop complaining about it and do something then.

Go out to your local community college or university, go through the training curriculum and become the cop that you would like to see your community have.

Bitching won't solve anything.

btw, Fab hit the nail on the head. No one wants to read stories about cops or anyone for that matter that do great things while at work. They want to hear about the negative stories that include injuries, deaths, and wrong actions. People live for the negative stories which make up for most of the news we receive now.

Cant be as bad as the police chiefs in Martins Ferry and Bridgeport..they broke into and robbed the house of Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate mother.

Anyone can hack into a facebook account and post something, you can't prove she was the one who wrote it or that she was actually drinking based on a facebook post.

Do I blame them? No. From the above description it sounds like they perfectly reflect the personality and make up of the community. I'm not surprised at all.

They could have proven she was driving under the influence if they had given her a field sobriety test, ect. Her own mother said she had been drinking during the 911 call.

Riiiight because the majority of us wouldn't do that. Why do people blindly hate people with authority?

how long after the accident did her mother call 911? when was she drinking? a field sobriety test a few hours after the fact is pointless. for all we know she was drinking at 10 pm, was sober by 2am and drove home and hit the cars while texting on her phone sober. or she got home at 1am, fell asleep on the couch and her mom found her at 2am and asked her what happend then called 911.

i am not defending their actions, they probably should have done a little more investigating, but to form any conclusions from this article is stupid.

So do the field sobriety test and prove she wasn't drinking. Problem solved. I don't see the logic in not even conducting one when it was after 2 am, 2 cars were damaged and her own mother said she was drinking. If she wasn't she would get the same citation she got...if she was they would have proof.

No surprise with Delaware. I live in the county and the county cops and sheriffs are jokes too.

The problem is that Delaware is a town and county run by hicks who are way behind the times and it is the fastest growing area in Central Ohio.

County sheriffs in Delaware are....well, I'm not finishing that sentence.

I never had any problems with Genoa Township, save for one jackass.
