Today is the 17th year "Anniversary" of the death of the former Celtics captain. I was only 11 years old when Reggie passed away in 1993 but I remember him as being one of my favorite Celtics. Reggie was awesome to watch play and one of the great tragedy's in the NBA. R.I.P. Reggie!

The Deaths of Lewis and Bias are the sole reasons that the Celtics were subpar through the 90s. Bias/Lewis led Celtics might be a better foil to Jordan than a Ewing led Knicks or Reggie led Pacers. Those were franchise killing losses. Of course Rick Pitino drove the Celts deeper and deeper...but there would be no Pitino in Boston if those two had not died.
