Time to see if people are interested in a GMC prediction thread. Who's going to be competitive this year? Some initial thoughts from this poster:

Tinora - lost some talent but has enough athletes to be there in the end

Antwerp - really more the process of elimination but as good of a choice as any I guess.

Fairview - another athletic team that can be "on" in any given game

Ayersville - new coach but the upper classes are just void of much talent

Edgerton - JV Coach moves up and will have a lot of young talent to build with as the season goes on

Holgate - any talent they have will be used to beyond it's potential

Wayne Trace - should improve from last year but will still struggle

Hicksville - lost a ton of points and minutes with last year's graduation. They will compete with anyone in this wide-open league.

I competed last year under another name and am interested in the poll. Heck yes I'm in if we have enough to do it.:D

Tinora - A lot depends on how good their JV's were last year as they lost a lot.

Antwerp - they always seem solid. Don't know much about them.

Fairview - Coach Rhodes seems to have turned that program around.

Ayersville - I've heard they are going to be tough.

Edgerton - young talent.

Holgate - they can't be down for too long. I expect much improvement this year.

Wayne Trace - don't know

Hicksville - don't know

Everyone but Tinora will start the first week-end in December. With scrimmages yet this week, I suggest we hold off on the predictions until after Dec. 1st. But whatever. Pick 'em when you want. I just hope we have a few people picking!

Friday, 12/4

Holgate @ Leipsic
Wayne Trace @ Van Wert Classic vs. Lincolnview

Saturday, 12/5

Ayersville @ Ft. Jennings
Fairview @ Hilltop
Hicksville @ Montpelier
Wayne Trace @ Van Wert Classic

Those results make me 2-2 after the first night.

I'll pick Van Wert over Wayne Trace in tonight's game.

Hey, GMC people, looks like Wayne Trace v. Edgerton in the District finals. What can you tell me about this game for those of you who have seen both these teams?

Probably the absolute WEAKEST District in the entire state.

Doesn't exactly answer my question though...

The game itself is a toss up for me. Edgerton has potential, and good athletes, but Wayne Trace is BY FAR the better coached team.

Tough slam on Coach Ripke - he's young and lacks experience but he must be doing something right to have his team improve so much this season

Not really a slam on Ripke... or at least not intended. I see Linder taking lesser talent and getting here. Ask any Edgerton fan before the season, and they expected to be here. At least the ones I've talked to. So, when you look at it like that, Linder has coached his team this far.
