Didn't really intend on seeing this but tagged along with friends last night to see it for the hell of it. I'll try not to spoil it too much, but read with caution:
The upside is Angelina Jolie is hot. That's really the best thing it had going for it. I didn't like how 2/3 of the movie the focus is how not only can no one catch her, but no one can even lay a damn finger on her. It's probably one of those movies that you take with a grain of salt (pun intended) and not worry about how far-fetched it all is, but it certainly tests the limits. God I hope Russia really isn't training these super-agents that can single-handedly outsmart and outmaneuver hundreds of cops, CIA agents, the FBI, and secret service. My favorite part was at the beginning when she was locked (I think?) in an interrogation room being monitored, then the next thing you know she's on an elevator and no one knows how the hell she got there - and I'll be dammed if they think to close the doors or cut the power in time to stop her.
The whole premise of how she continually escapes seems lazy. Guards are temporarily stunned and she escapes the CIA building. She continually jumps from truck to truck to escape pursuing agents. She crashes a police SUV, and dozens of on-lookers only think to assist the injured cop from the car - NO ONE gives a second look to the woman climbing out of the backseat and walking away. She sneaks into the cellar of the White House and punches out agents when they aren't looking to get their keycards. At the end she literally shoots through a concrete wall to gain entrance to a bunker.
I hope Homeland Security was paying attention and taking note to just how weak we really are.
