i thought shaq wouldve been a good pickup for boston. all he needs to do is bang in the paint.with them allready signing jermaine oneal i dont know if theres any money left to sign shaq?? i think shaq couldve helped them more then jermaine oneal.

Shaq can still sign for the Vet Minimum or just wait & see what Rasheed Wallace does and if he retires he can be packaged in a sign & trade for this contract and that would be $6M off the books.

I'm okay with Shaq chasing titles. The guy's 38 years old and is a role player at best. If someone wants to sign him, more power to him.

As much as I was against Bradley taken at #19 it would be pretty dumb to trade a 1st Rd pick for Shaq, he isn't worth at 1st round pick! .... Wouldn't mind giving up Sheed's retiring contract

Would he be willing to come off the bench? I think Doc Rivers likes Perkins as his starting center, though he may not be available at the start of the season. I do think this would be a good fit for Shaq. The Celtics didn't have much size in the playoffs last season and Shaq hasn't fell off that much that he wouldn't be able to contribute.

Cleveland won't do it just for an expiring. The trade will have to involve either young talent or picks.

I love Shaq. One of my favorite all-time players. But to borrow a line from the movie Tin Men, "time to go, Nora!!"

I don't see it happening. You've got Perkins when healthy, JO, then Shaq? Perk will be back later in the year if things go well. Is Shaq willing to possible be the 3rd guy off the bench? I'd take JO before him easily. JO is still a damn good shot blocker, Shaq isn't. Neither can score like they used to, nor do they need to. LA and Miami don't want him back because he didn't know how to leave class (yet wants to go back). So many Boston is the best place for 1-3 years. I havn't heard a single thing about it, but the Spurs just seem like a team that would sneak in at the end and pick him up for one last true run at a title. I think this is their last true chance, and they know it, then it's time to rebuild-- might as well get Shaq to play C for ya.

Shaq was a great player. A true super star. A man who was instrumental in several NBA Titles. Time and attrition have taken their toll. I honestly thought that Shaq would help the Cavs a lot more but it wasn't his fault. He, like many of us, got old. It isn't a crime. It's just the way it is. He can't, in my opinion, sustain himself through another long season without many little aches and pains and the inability to get up and down in a fast break style game. I just don't think he can help anyone enough to take the risk. I think it's time for Shaq to move on and accept the gratitude of all of the NBA fans who were treated to his magnificent talent for all these years.

This. He's a former elite player who has now diminished to being a glorified role player talent-wise, but whose ego won't allow him to accept that. It was kinda sad and pathetic during the playoffs last year when the team was feeding him the ball like 4-5 times in the paint in the opening minutes of games and he'd turn around, try to finesse a shot in and miss most of the time.

Shaq's skills are eroding, yet he can still dominate for short stretches of the game. He would be a good addition to a good team where he can play 15 minutes a night. I can still see Yannick Noah's kid leaning into him with all he had and Shaq hardly noticed the gnat on his back.
