What are some of the best deals you have found? What sites do you use to book your airfare? I just found a round trip flight from Columbus to Orange county for $241 including tax on expedia. I dont fly very often but this seems pretty damn cheap.

In the brief days of Skybus, flew three relatives from Greensboro up to Ohio and back for a reunion. $198 for all three tickets.

I have always found it cheapest to go through the airline website. It is always a little more expensive to book through expedia, priceline, etc. as they have to do something to make money themselves. I usually use a site like expedia, see what the cheapest flight is, then go to that airlines website and get it a little cheaper.

St Louis to South Korea...FREE, thanks to the military. I did have to wait 371 days before the flight home to complete the round trip.

I usually will browse the Travelocity, Expedia sites, but end up buying from the Airline sites depending on what airlines gets you there. Seems they are the same price on the airline sites as they are on the bargain site.

$12.00 each for two Columbus-Seattle round trips in September (first class on the longer DTW-SEA and SEA-MSP flights. Cashed in some airline miles - all I had to pay were airport fees in Detroit and Minneapolis :). No bag fees, either.

We took the kids out to Oregon two years ago for $129 round trip plus fees - and it didn't involve a redeye on the way home, either. We can use our corporate travel service to monitor fares - when a really good fare comes up, it lets me know the same day. Spelling

You obviously have no clue as to how those sites function.

Exactly what I do. I use expedia to find the cheapest airline, then go to the airlines site to buy the ticket.

You obviously have no clue what you are talking about.

It is very rare that I find a flight cheaper on expedia than on the airlines website directly.

I've probably flown 150 times in the last 5 years and you are wrong, expedia almost never has cheaper flights than the airline websites themselves.

Did you read my first response? I said, "those sites", not just expedia. Try again. Many factors play a part.

150 from Pittsburgh to San Diego last year. Used the airline site. I've never found a cheaper flight from "those" sites. Now tell me I'm wrong.

I have done the same as others....I use the third party sites to get an idea then book it cheaper on the airline's site. The best deal I got was a round tripper from Columbus to Orlando for $138....but that was a few years ago.

Just compared some random flights on random days and "those sites" had cheaper rates compared to their respective airlines.

GoPens is wrong once again.

I'm never wrong. And until I find a cheaper flight on the "other" sites, I'm still never wrong. DB
