So, they are only going after $181 for some "security fee" these days? Whatever happened to the $5000 transfer for processing or whatever? I guess the recession is even hitting scammers hard.

I think it would be hilarious to email them and say "no need to send the fee....just subtract it from the $12.5M...send me $12,499,818....keep the change".

Also, you should request the $12.5M in small bills - 1's and 5's.

25*500k = $12.5M.....What is it with these guys and their lack of creativity?

Interestingly enough, that latest appears to be an identity theft scam rather than a con to get your bank acct, although it appears they forgot to ask for you SSN (perhaps you should email them to remind them of this?). Of course, maybe they go for the account later.

I've actually had one of these scammers mail to a check via certified mail for over $5,000. It had a company's letterhead on it, and I ended up calling the company and informing them. The check had the correct account and routing numbers.
