Just signed a new contract with cable company today. Two years. Got phone, digital cable, and Internet. First year is $75 and the second year is $99. After that, it jumps to $160, when I will more than likely cancel.

My question... Why can't a freaking company come out that just charges that low fee 100% of the time? There is no way in hell that all these services are worth that $160!

I pay $15 for cable (basic, local, HD), and stream Hulu and Netflix on my PS3 in the theater or BR player in the family room. I don't watch TV enough to justify $75, let alone $160 --- that's nuts.

I did something last month...that I thought I would never do....I went back to cable.

They offered me a locked in rate with HD DVR, HBO and RoadRunner Gold for 79 bucks a month. I had been fighting with Direct over getting a HD DVR for free...they wanted me to pay $100 and do a 2 yr commitment. My rate had gone up since my refer a friend(thx justincredible) had ended. Anyhow, I saved around $35 a month by doing this. Also, they gave me a $100 credit, since I told them that I was still under contract for Directv..even though I wasn't.

I just locked in a 2 year rate of 104.99/month for cable and internet from time warner. Fastest roadrunner they have (I'm a gamer so fast internet is a must) and like 300+ channels. They threw in a free DVR, setup and installation for it, and free DVR service for a year since I also referred a friend that day (DVR service will cost $5 a month during the second year). So no matter how much the cost of cable rises for the next 2 years, my bill won't go up, aside from the DVR in the second year. And I'm ok with that, especially since I'm getting pretty much every channel known to man and sweet internet lol.

ETB, it's always going to be win lose with any technology. Cable/TV....wrong. Cable/ADSL Internet...Wrong. Cable/Phone...Wrong depending on who you talk to. All I know is I'm wrong for being with Time Warner, but yet I can't have Dish or Direct because those fuckers can't figure out how to shoot their signal through a brick wall. Even better yet they couldn't shoot their signal through a little bit of rain.

I only know if the dish/direct people could do anything for me they'd be here kissin' my ass. But until them I'm with the cable company and paying MUCH more than you, but I can afford it.The ones who will always want to whine should grow a Vag and Bitch like their BFFs do,,,,

I have a bundle package from Verizon for phone/internet/DirecTV. Right now I pay about $105 per month, but that was for 12 months. My DSL is crap though. Seriously considering going back to Time Warner.

Check the fine print. My parents did that and later found out there is a $5 a month 'fee' added on the first year. I've never had to do a 'contract' in Florida. I had Directv for years and got pissed because my reciever died and they wanted to charge me for a new one while giving away 4 at a time to new customers. I went to cable 2 years ago because I was traveling much less and didn't need a satellite. Soon I'm going to go internet only and have a separate monitor hooked up for net tv viewing while I surf the web.

I was talking about me. I'm kinda stuck paying over $200.00 a month for cable/internet/phone. There is another option out there by the Phone company, but it's not in my area yet. (fiber optics)
