Great band. Freddie Mercury was one of the best voices in rock and roll. For a change of pace listen to "I'm in Love With My Car" the lead vocals are done by drummer Roger Taylor and is one of the very few songs not sung by Freddie. Roger does an excellent job on vocals.

Freddie Mercury: a British gay man with a Parsi heritage Can't be too many of those types running. He was a great muscian. If he were born today and went on American Idol, would Randy Jackson dare say to him, "Dude, you can blow"?
Btw, I once read he was married to a woman but had male lovers. They were the 70's version of Will & Grace. I think he left all of his money and homes to her. Interesting...

I must agree that Queen is probably one of the top 5 bands of all time. For me they're right up there with The Beatles. Practically every song they ever wrote is amazing and their music shows such diversity. One of my favorite bands to listen to on road trips because unlike a lot of their bands, their music doesn't all sound the same.

Queen is like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. I can listen to 2-3 songs and that's enough.

... Queen's performance at Live Aid on MTV (1985) was incredible. I remember watching it and thinking what a historic moment & it wasn't all that long after it that Freddie announced he had AIDS ('87 I think).

Live in Montreal on Blu - Ray....my go to when Im just hanging out, has the Live Aid performance as well. Queen rules, and Freddie is the shit.
The 101 on direcTV is playing Queen w. Paul Rodgers and to his credit he didn't try to be Freddie and it was quite enjoyable. I got teared up when Brian May played "Love of My Life" in tribute to Freddie.

Queen was incredible! One of my all time favorites and one of the best bands ever in my opinion. Freddie Mercury had and still has the best voice I have ever heard. Crazy octave range and sounded amazing every time he sung, you just can't help but be awed. The live at Wembley concert is one of the best concerts you will ever see, period!
