I've been having the itch lately to purchase a PS3. I'm debating whether to get one now or just hold off another 4 months until around Black Friday when they're cheaper. You guys know any good places online to get them a bit cheaper now? What's your thoughts on getting an extended warranty for it? Thanks for any info, I know a lot of you guys stay up on the gaming shit more than I do.

I gave in and got one off ebay about a month ago. 250GB slim for $324 and free shipping. I'm glad I did, its more than just for gaming. I have Netfilx which I can stream through PS3 and I just got an MLB.tv package so I can watch Braves games along with any other game instead of being forced to watch only Tigers/Reds/Indians.

Not that this serves a purpose now, but anyone that is thinking about diving into blu ray, the PS3 is still the best player out there and it is capable of displaying 3D blu rays....whenever it gets the firmware update.

I'll definitely get a ps3, I hate the 360 now. I just don't know whether to be patient for a price cut/bundle in the next 4 months or so. Since they already dropped prices, I don't know what the black friday deals may be like. Plus I have the itch to start kicking some of your guys asses in ncaa ha.

The one downside I've seen with streaming Netflix is too few options and even fewer new releases. Give me access to stream your whole library....$20 a month done deal

Buy it but wait 4 months the weather will be shitty and you will play it alot more. I haven't turned the PS3 on to play a game for months and that goes for the wii as well.

Today, at Gamescom, Sony announced several new PlayStation 3 models with updated storage capacities. The newly announced 160 GB PS3 Slim will retail for $299 — currently the price of the 120 GB model — and should be on sale in the coming days or weeks (it was seen earlier today on Amazon before the announcement). A second model, which can be purchased in the Move Bundle, comes with a 320 GB PlayStation 3 console, Sony’s Move controller, PlayStation Eye camera, and the game title Sports Champions. The Move Bundle should begin to show up on store shelves in mid-September and will retail for $399. The remainder of the show was dedicated to software trailers, announcements, and demos, including: Resistance 3, inFAMOUS 2, Medal of Honor, MAG, Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, Virtua Tennis 4, and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. GT5 is most likely going to have the best overall graphics on console and will rival many PC games. The reflections in that game are amazing...

BTW, a nice PSN game will be hitting the PS Store in the fall called Dead Nation. It's a top down zombie apocalyptic shooter that promises to have the most zombies on screen at once. This game looks very nice.

About time they got rid of the disc for netflix....

No shit I have been waiting for this for a long time.

Anyone get the move yet? Every review I have read has been great. Their only complaint is lack of games, but they says the system is 100x better than wii.
