Anyone else watching? I didn't get a chance to go to the game today due to a pending work emergency that fizzled out.

Wood is throwing another great game, holding the Rockies scoreless through 5. His walks are high (4) but he has 5 Ks and only 2 hits.

Unfortunately Cook is holding the Reds in check as well.

0-0 through 5 and a half.

Well a 2 out HR by Iannetta gives the Rockies a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 6th

Reds just going up there hacking every Inning.... Cook is only at 57 Pitches through 5 1/3

Reds leave 8 men on base after 6 Innings..... Cook is 0-5 w/ almost 7ERA on the Road this season & has dominated today while throwing only 65 pitches through 6 Innings so far

FUCK! GOLDEN opportunity to at least tie it w/ 1 out and back 2 back strikeouts.... Solid outing by Travis Wood falls short to a 1-0 loss

Too many K's again, seemed like every time the Rockies needed one they got it.

Reds score fewer than 3 runs for 20th time in 93 games...(21.5%)...dropping record to 2-18.

Three words...

Down and away.

That will get 7 of the 9 man batting order out every time. It appears that some of the Reds like to go golfing during their at-bats.

Heisey gave a good at bat and laid off some of the pitches...Phillips just wailed at 3 of the 4 pitches going for upper deck in all swings

The Cardinals won. The Reds are no longer in first.

St. Louis has a head of steam up coming out of the All Star break and the Reds are going to have to match the Cardinals' enthusiasm.

The best thing the Reds have going for them is the reminder of the schedule is "on paper" much easier than the Cardinals. I think I read only 23 of the Reds remaining 70 games after the break were against teams with winning records. Next up... four games with the Washington Nationals in Cincinnati. There is no reason the Reds don't take at least three out of four.

There was also no reason not to take 2 of 3 from the Royals

The Cards come back from a 4-0 deficit in the 8th inning today to get a two out walk-off hit for their 5th in a row with the last four after the break against a team that was 10 games over .500! The Reds have suffered 1-0 losses in 3 of the last 5 games, and in those games they had at bats with runners on 3rd and less than one out five times with at least one of those ABs in each game. They failed to get a run in each and every time!

None of those futile 5 ABs were by Cabrera. He has hit 5/10 with two RBIs, a walk, and a SB after the four day rest after going 2/19 in his last four games before the break with no RBI, walks, or SB in the last four games before the break. I don't know why Dusty does't give him more days off to get more productivity per game played from him, especially with the capable Janish to fill in at SS.
