Not surprisingly, Pat Riley used to own the house, and it was reportedly taken off the market just hours after the King made his "decision."

This thing is unreal, and when you contrast going home to this every day versus Akron my ass would be going to Coral Gables as well. I can only imagine what it must be like to live like this.

Here are the real estate description and some pictures I found on one of the newslinks. I read property taxes alone are supposedly $350,000 a year. That is more than most people's homes are worth.
One-of-A-Kind breathtaking 8BD/11BA open bay waterfront estate situated on the finest lot in gated exclusive Gables Estates! This 20,088 SF grandeur home has 800 ft on water & sits on 3.6 acres w/100 ft dock to accommodate 150ft yacht.Private Guest Suite w/lighted tennis ct & courtyard on its own acre.3 Suites w/full baths,Upstairs Master Suite w/full Gym,Billiard and Media room are just a few of the delights.Luitron lighting & 12 camera security system thru-out this estate!

I noticed that to. Clearly there hasn't been a major update since it was built in 2000.

I guess $50 million doesn't buy what it used to.

I was just looking through that real estate site just to see what other homes around Miami are like and noticed Shaq's Miami Beach house is listed as just sold for $16 million when he was asking $22.5 originally. Divorce is a bitch I guess.

It is truly stunning the amount of money some of these homes go for considering what it would cost to build a comparable structure up here in Ohio. Then again, you don't wake up on the ocean in warm weather every day so I guess that has just a little bit to do with the price disparity.

Not quite yet....
Rumors swirled earlier this afternoon that LeBron James had made an offer on a $40M waterfront home in Coral Gables. My sources tell me that the offer was made on a 20,862 square foot mansion located at 11 Casuarina Concourse in the Gables Estates neighborhood of Coral Gables. The 8 bedroom/11 bath/2 half bath palace sits on a 3.6 acre lot with 880 feet of water frontage and comes with a dock to accommodate a 150-foot yacht. The magnificent residence was previously listed for $49.5M before the listing expired on May 31, 2010. The home, which was purchased in July 1987 for 2,018,000, is currently owned by luxury auto dealer Alan Potamkin of Potamkin Auto Gallery.

Disclaimer: I verified earlier today that in fact no offer was made on the estate located at 11 Casuarina Concourse in Coral Gables.

Assuming he does get the house, how long will it take for Delonte and Gloria to bump uglies in every room? 11.5 bathrooms and 8 bedrooms.....I give it 2 weeks.

False. She will bang one teammate per bathroom. It will be done in one night. That Gloria is a go getta.

Should probably lose those robes in the bathroom. Did Bob Byrd stay there?

Must be nice to have that kind of money and have a mansion in two states.

So...it's listed at 49.5 mil. Assuming that it sells for that and the realtor gets 6% commision, the realtor will make 2.78 mil on that transaction alone. Not a bad day at the office.

The fact that his first mansion is in a part of the country where property values are well down in the shitter helps with that.

50 million? Florida real estate could lose 2/3 of it's value just like that. The economy completely implodes, the NBA goes broke and LBJ declares bankruptcy.

The Block O on the ceiling in the kitchen is worth 50 mil alone.

Not bad digs....Funny thing is, I've seen research that no matter how large the house, most people spend 90% of their time in like just 3 rooms. You could have some good parties there, though.

I feel the same way.

I don't want the biggest house when I'm older, I want four kickass rooms...bedroom, lounge, basement/gameroom and kitchen. Anything else is irrelevant to me.

Although I agree with you, it's a little different when you have $500 million laying around. Plus, real estate is an investment so maybe it appreciates.

Bigger homes are harder to sell, esp in this current market. The taxes alone on that beast I doubt he makes any money if he sells it after everything is considered. Its more of an ego thing, plus he can afford it. Does seem a bit silly when you figure he's traveling half the year anyway.
