i'd like to know why the skepticism.
the fact that it's sealed is enough for me to be ecstatic. couple that with the fact that they've stopped the flow and that's even better. assuming there is no underground blowout (which is what they're looking for when they say "engineers will monitor pressure on the well") this is as close to a solution as they get until the relief well is finished.

Of course there is a chance it will not hold however this is great news and I hope it holds while they get the permanent fix inline. This is great news for the Gulf Region!!!!

This is great news. However, this should not have happened in the 1st place.

Actually had a guy at work today complain because he didn't take advantage of buying any BP stock and didn't want them to stop it yet so he could. Sick SOB!!

BPs stock was at $60.48 per share on the day of the oil spill, since then the price of the stock has dropped to $39.27. That is a loss of $26.21 per share since the oil spill which still has yet to be resolved so the stock may drop even more.

BP should have hired some Russians and had the leak fixed in under two days.
