White Sox were 9 games under .500 30 games ago. Now they are 11 games over and all alone in 1st place heading into ther All Star Break. Should be a great 3 team race the rest of the season for the AL Central.

I haven't paid any attention to baseball this year....I just assumed that Minny was running away with it.

I'm sure that streak got started around the time they swept the Pirates in a three-game series. The White Sox must have taken that mantle from the Yankees for this year, as I remember a year or two where the Yankees were looking pretty pedestrian, swept the Pirates and then got hot for the rest of the year.

It seems like when I watch the highlights this Carlos Quentin dude is all over making plays.
He does have 19 HRs but only hitting about .250. Just seems like he does a lot when he's healthy.

With this rush of wins and at the same time as Quentin's heroics....he could venture back into MVP consideration like he was about 3 years ago until he was injured with about 30 games left.
oh....and fat ass hit his 400th career hr and surpassed 1200 rbi

The White Sox were my preseason pick to win the division. Loved their pitching staff. I was shocked they started off so terribly.
It's too bad for them that Peavy is having season ending surgery. He was finally reverting to his old form over the last month.

The injury to Peavy will definately hurt them. He started off slow, but has pitched great lately. Beckham has been a huge disapointment too.
Minny isn't really losing the division as much as the Tigers & White Sox have both gotten ridiculously hot. Tigers do not lose much at home and have had a lot of home games recently.

Their starting pitching started doing a little better(they were never doing terribly, just aside from Paul Konerko they were getting absolutely no run support) and now they're getting games to their bullpens which is full of fireballers w/ Putz, Thornton, and Jenks, guys that can ratchet up to triple digits. Sould be a great 2nd half race in the Central

It has been good month or so for my White Sox. After a terrible April and May the pitching has started to come around. I am looking forward tot he 2nd hafl of the season.
