Just watched this f'cked up movie today and WTF???? Did he do all those killings or did he just imagine that he was doing it? I have checked other message boards and they say that the book is FAR worse than the movie. Might have to read the book to shed some light on this.

Anybody see it and have any thoughts??

Probably my favorite movie that is categorized as a "dark comedy"

The book was indeed far more graphic than the movie and the whole purpose was so that BEE could sell the book on shock value.
Did he do all those killings or did he just imagine that he was doing it?

One of my favorites. I think its left to your interpretation. I was confused too and stumbled upon some explanation saying he did all those killings but no one knew the real Patrick Bateman because everyone was consumed in themselves and all materialistic. If you notice Bale's character gets called by a few peoples names, even eating dinner with the one guy and he blatantly talked shit about Bateman in front of his face. I forget the whole spiel someone posted but it made sense.

I kinda think he just imagined all that stuff. Too many things that didn't add up (lawyer saw Paul Allen -I think that's his name, the feed me a stray cat, the blood trail vanishes, the bodies in the apartment disappear, etc)

I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. I never appreciated their work before, it was too artsy and intellectual.

I have all the characteristics of a human being: blood, flesh, skin, hair; but not a single, clear, identifiable emotion, except for greed and disgust. Something horrible is happening inside of me and I don't know why. My nightly bloodlust has overflown into my days. I feel lethal, on the verge of frenzy. I think my mask of sanity is about to slip

One of my favorite movies and favorite books.

Speaking of BEE, I heard they were supposed to make a film version of Glamorama (which would be AWESOME), but it never came to be.

By far my favorite movie, couldn't tell you how many times I've seen it. To the OP I suggest watching the movie over; I guess I've watched it over a hundred times and I pick up something new each time. At first I thought it was all in his head like a lot of people, but after watching it so many times there are little hints and I now realize that he did commit the murders.

And yes the book is much worse.

Hmmm, I read the book first and then watched the movie. I didn't like either of them and I can't understand what anyone else sees in it. (The detail they go into in the book, for all of his shit annoys the crap out of me.) He's a dick in the beginning and he gets away with killing a bunch of people. Then end. Maybe I should watch it again to see what's so great, but I just didn't see it.

Side note: anyone else flex when you are hitting it doggy style because of the movie? I know I do.

I picked up the book today. Will try to make sense of everything.

On one web site they chalked up the disappearing blood trail to an error. So who know.
