Usually I hate it when a band remakes an old classic, but I love the new Five Finger Death Punch remake of Bad Company. The video is awesome too, a tribute to the soldiers in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Iraq. What are some of your favorite remakes?

I like this version better than the original, not that the original was all that good anyway.

That Bad Company remake is pretty good.

Here are my two favorites, outside of Hurt.

River in the Rain - Leroy powell

Walk of Life - Shooter Jennings

The only three remakes I like better than the originals are Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower (I love Dylan's too, but it's Jimi's now), Johnny Cash doing Hurt and Aretha Franklin's Respect (legendary Otis Redding recorded it to little fanfare a few years before, but Aretha's was just a notch better).

One that's hard to judge is Sloop John B. The Beach Boys' recording is the definitive, but it was a folk song from the West Indies. It's hard to say if the people of the West Indies sang it better than the Beach Boys or not...

Bullshit, Manfred Mann's version of "Blinded by the Light" is light years ahead of Springsteen's, even though the Boss rocks.

Here's a lesser known cover of a cover. I love it...and I know Mooney likes this one too. So I figured I'd share...

I disagree. The fact that Manfried Mann completed screwed up the lyrics to the song and made it sound like 'wrapped up like a douche' makes it a horrible cover.

History disagree's with you. Manfred Mann's version is the only song Springsteen ever wrote to reach #1 on the Billboard charts. You're dissing the song because he changed one word in it?

He didn't "change" a word. Manfred Mann apparently couldn't prounounce the words 'revved' and 'deuce.' It was Iron Butterfly syndrome.

As for chart topping...

People like Lady Gaga, Nickelback, Justin Bieber, and the Village People. Doesn't mean they don't suck monkey balls.

I've never like either version of the song in reality. When compared to legendary tracks Bruce was laying down during that time period, 'Blinded By the Light' should've been a B Side for him.

God only knows what pushes songs to No. 1 on the charts. It sure isn't musical genius.

Guilty as charged.

I'm not really bothered by being called out because I love great music.

And it's a shame that people only remember Manfred Mann for that song, because they actually put out some good music elsewhere in their career. A neglected group of the British Invasion, really.

Too bad they are remembered for their ode to feminine hygiene.
