Anybody else on here gonna watch it?
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys are slated to perform. Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, etc.
Hov and Alicia Keys' performance should be good.

I gotta admit, as big of a fan of Jackson's GOOD music (pretty much anything before 1993), I also find him being up for 5 awards odd. BUT, I also don't know the awards, or the circumstances surrounding them...I do imagine that whatever they are, he wouldn't be nominated if he was alive?
Which is where I'd have a problem, like, it's not like Heath Ledger who was lights out (poor choice of words?) as the Joker and deserved a nomination, and IMO, deserved the win.
I do want to see Whitney Houston perform...the odd thing about Keys and Jay-Z, I've enjoyed the performances of that song more when Bridget Kelly sings with him. And I do like Keys, and she adds a great element to the song, but I haven't loved it live with her. I'm going to DVR it, I'm actually kind of warming to Carrie Underwood, I got to review her album when it came out and I went into it rolling my eyes, but it's a pretty decent pop record. Wouldn't call it "Country"...but...splitting hairs...

I've never been a big fan of "awards" programs. It's just the "entertainment" industry doing some self-aggrandizing.

Probably not banned, but he's, at last check, not in the states, so he wouldn't be attending anyway.

I'll probably try to watch some of it. I want to see what MJ is nominated for and if he wins. Loves me some Michael.

Yikes, really?
Color me insensitive, but I hope he doesn't win any of those.
Again, not because I dislike him, I actually am a big fan of his music, but because he wouldn't have even been a factor if he was alive.
But, he will likely win at least 3, if not all of those.
I dunno, I'm all for honoring the death of people, I thought the people complaining about the coverage MJ's death got were being a bit whiny...but, I don't think it's fair to take it to the level of awarding something undeserving that could go to someone more deserving.

I'm becoming increasingly disenfranchised with entertainment award show, the music industries in particular.

Yeeeaaahhh....I forgot the AMA's were the fan decided ones.
MJ will likely get 5/5, I agree.
But, I thought his Number Ones album came out in like 2003?
