Don't worry, LAL has a TEAM which will beat the AAU squad assembled in Miami.

Lakers are making a mistake letting him go if this comes to be.

....and what if they get Shaq too? The NBA finals rating would be CRAZY!!!!!!! If the Lakers play the Heat.

This one is all on Jerry Buss if he is too big a cheapskate to not see the value Fisher brings. Some in that organization have been hell bent on running him out of town because they don't want to pay him, so if I was Fisher I would take the veterans minimum from Miami before I took a 50% paycut to stay in L.A even though it is more money than the veteran's min.
It is the principle of the matter, and if they don't think your worth more than $2.5 million a year for more than 1 year, head right on down to Miami as they have no respect for you. Kobe has been very vocal about wanting him back, but he needs to raise holy hell if they let him go.
Steve Blake averaged 7 points 5 assists last year and got 4 years $16 million as a 30 year old slow white guy with little to no playoff experience.
Derek Fisher last year averaged 7 points 3 assists and was the heart and soul of a championship team, and he was offered 1 year $2.5 reportedly. He might be 35, but keeps himself in tip top condition, has off the charts intangibles, and has more toughness than Blake can dream of.
If I was D. Fish I would tell Jerry Buss to kiss my ass and walk my way out of town as well.

"I have decided to continue with Kobe, continue with our teammates and the fans of Los Angeles," Fisher said in a statement on his website. "While this may not be the most lucrative contract I've been offered this offseason, it is the most valuable. I am confident I will continue to lead this team on and off the court. Let the hunt for six begin."

Probably a good move for Fish.
