So anyone else think this place is overrated for what it is? I don't know, I haven't been there in a very long time and went tonight on base. I just don't see spending $6.50 on ice cream that's just alright.

The profit margins on ice-cream tend to be very nice.

I'd say it was alright, just tasted like typical ice cream. Would have loved to gone to Handels in the Ytown area. They have the best ice cream ever!

I've been there once and will not go back. It was not at all worth the money and it wasn't anything special.

Dietch's in Findlay, Ohio is the best. Plus their Chocolates and everything else they have there is some good stuff too. I do love Coldstones Waffle Bowls though.

I'm too plain for Coldstone. Give me chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry and I'm happy.

I don't go for cake batter, peanute butter crunch swirl in the Gotta Have it! size. Too much for me.

To me there ice cream is too melted and mixed up. Almost like a Blizzard. Not for me. I like hard chocolate with chunks of ice in it.

I'd rather have Stricklands Custard or Tofts hand dipped from the Sandusky local.

Ice cream places are getting expensive in general. I just came back from California and saw a lot of places priced comparable to Cold Stone. They did not even have the mix-ins.

Never been to a Coldstone. All we had on base back in the 80's, when I was in, was Burger King...if you were lucky.

I like Coldstone but Jennis in the Northmarket or the Ye Olde Mill in Utica is where real ice cream is at.

Best ice cream I've had was in Hawaii.

Actually the Pineapple ice cream that they make at the Dole plantation on Oahu is pretty damned awesome too. Incredibly fresh.

Finally, something we agree on. There's only 1 place you can go that's been making ice cream for 96 years and that's the Mill in Utica. It's nationally famous, and there's a reason why.

Ah, good old AAFES. When I was in England we had a Baskin-Robbins at RAF Lakenheath, a Burger Bar and a pizza place (Anthony's Pizza IIRC) in the BX. There was a Burger King also on the base. What memories.
