Ring chasing.. That's all it is. Instead of building his own legacy, he went to join somebody else's..

+"3" Not too many people have more money than God, the chance to be a hometown hero, and the chance to to have the legacy of an eternal , endearing love of an entire region. LBJ threw that away to become one of 3 guys chasing a ring in Miami.

Gilbert nailed it. He sucker punched his loyal fans and former team on national TV in an unprecedented narcissistic display. Worse his actions (not agreeing to a sign and trade) prevents the team from recouping any value. Gilbert is a good owner. Cleveland fans worshipped LeBron. NO more. We deserved better than that.

Fuck Gilbert it's business something he managed poorly. How is Gilbert a good owner? He had an opportunity to hire a good coach and who did he hire? He had an opportunity o bring more talent to Cleveland and what did he do? LeBron waited 7 years for this asshole to manage his organization he couldn't so LeBron bounced. Now all you Cleveland fans feel scorned like the bitch that refused to take care of herself and her husband left her for a woman that would.

Gilbert did everything he could to make this man happy. Do you realize the position that the Cavs were in? They werent getting ANY sort of comittment from Lebron. If they dont make any moves they werent trying hard enough......if they make a couple moves and they dont work they are idiots and dont know how to build a team. Damned if you do, damned if you dont. Gilbert built this guy a state of the art practice facility right down the street from his house. He created jobs for Lebrons highschool buddies. He made sure that his former teammates were on the Cavs summer league roster. He did everything that he could. Lebron doesnt even have the decency to give him a call to either explain himself or tell him his decision. Thats a total bitch move. Some people in the media are trashing Gilbert for his letter but I'll say this....Cleveland fans LOVE it and thats all that matters to Gilbert.

You are an idiot if you think Gilbert didn't do everything possible to keep his superstar happy.....probably a lot more than will ever be known. Dan Gilbert is a good businessman, and I can assure you that he knows business and is quite capable of accepting what is "just business". From his words there is something a lot more personal here, because he has essentially elevated this to vendetta status. Mike Brown a poor coach?...ehhhh too early in his career to say that. It could just as easily be that LBJ is a coach killer.

I'm trying to keep up here ... can someone help me understand?

Jordan, Magic, Bird, etc would have never gone to another team just to be on an All Star team that could win titles. Didn't they already have that type of team? They each had at least one HOFer on the roster for all their titles. Magic and Bird had two. They didn't need to go anywhere, their teams' offices brought the players to them.

Now, every other team who has brought in top notch players is a "real" team, but because the players themselves want to play together in this case, it isn't right ... or fair ... or legit?

Miami has been eyeing this free agent period for the last couple years, clearing cap space, taking lumps ... and that makes them dirty? So, sacrificing short term for a big long term payoff isn't just good business?

You make a good point, but let's be clear. This is the Heat surrounding Wade with talent, not LeBron. Now he is the #2, the sidekick, the 'other guy'. Pathetic for someone with his talent.

Dan Gilbert is an embarrassment to Cleveland. You can't act like a child after everything Lebron did for you. Going forward, Gilbert better be up front with every player that he ever cuts or trades. It works both ways. I lost all respect for him and for those who think he's a great owner, he just made himself look like an idiot "promising a championship". The Cavs are at least 5 years away from even being in the discussion. It's all just so sad.

You really believe that? A sidekick? To me, it seems like you all had the psychology of LeBron wrong to begin with and now you are grasping at any thing you can to make yourself feel better.

A lot of people thought money was an issue because LeBron said he wanted to be a billion dollar athlete. Cleveland could offer the most, so people thought that would work. Other people thought LeBron wants to win a title "for Cleveland". Still others thought he wanted to be the man and build a legacy as someone who did it all by himself. Well, it seems, that LeBron's interest is in winning titles......period.

He needs a team to do that. He'll get plenty of glory if he accomplishes it and as I've said before, the only people who are going to make an issue of his being #2 are the people who either already hate him or the people that are sour he won without Cleveland.

Thats the 2nd owner to guarantee a Championship, the east should be very interesting for a change next year.

Yeah, I still never saw a response from CLE fans about the fact that Gilbert fired his head coach and GM. GREAT POINT! Mike Brown is just too classy to go about things the way Gilbert did.

Wrong Heelz is not a Cavs fan or a Lebron fan good try though, It's just an opinion, seeing as how he went to Wades team and is just another role player hired to support DWade.

Exactly. People are quick to forget that he and Wade signed matching contracts FOR A REASON. Cleveland fans....biggest tards in sports.

Maybe DWade has more class and doesn't need all the media "look at me" attention and just announced his plans like everyone else does. Did Bosh, Amare, Boozer or anyone else do the 1 hour special?
