I heard it was suicide. Sad. I remember Mel and Bowie on the floor at the same time. Awesome at the time. You didn't see many 7 footers at the time. You certainly didn't see two of them on the same team.
Mel lived with a whole city who worshipped him. Too bad that couldn't help him overcome his demons.
