According to Adrian Wojnarowski (via twitter)

Re-Signing Pierce, Ray Allen and now getting Jermaine O' Neal is big with the injury to Perkins. Ainge is looking at a few others to fill up the rest of the MLE or Vet Minimum.

Not a bad get. If KG or Doc can get into his head and make him play like he is capable of this could turn out great. I see him just being average like he has been the last couple years though.

I know stats aren't everything but considering what it sounds like they're paying for him he's still pretty serviceable.

Last season:

JO 70 Games
KG 69 Games

JO 28.4 MPG
KG 29.9 MPG

JO .529 FG%
KG .521 FG%

JO 6.9 RPG
KG 7.3 RPG

JO 13.6 PPG
KG 14.3 PPG

JO 1.4 BPG
KG 0.8 BPG

I think he'll fit in in the same role as Sheed last year. Not expecting a lot, but I'm sure he will be a solid addition.

O'Neal is a very nice pick up for the Celtics. It would appear that a few teams (the Celtics to name one), are being proactive and obtaining pieces that Doc can piece together into another typically team oriented Celtics squad. If Lebron doesn't stay in Cleveland, what has Cavalier Management done to improve the Cavs from a year ago when they went 61-21. Hopefully, the "King" will stay and we won't have to deal with that question. Otherwise, things could get a little strained. The biggest change the Cavs have made thus far is firing the man who coached the Cavs to that 61-21 record.
