JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man took a dog into a back yard and killed it with a shovel, Jacksonville police said.

Morgen Ingerson, 31, was arrested Tuesday on charges of cruelty to animals and unnecessary suffering.

"Never seen anything quite like this," said Scott Trebatoski, of Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services.
