The remodeled Big House looks solid, especially considering the shape it was in.

On Tiger Droppings they made it a Big Ten vs. SEC thing...

I'd say in terms of the top tier/big stadiums, the Big Ten easily takes the cake with Ohio Stadium, Michigan Stadium, etc.
In terms of the full body of work, most all of the SEC schools have nice places, while some of the small and shitty Big Ten ones definitely get pretty rough.

Yeah, I know.......no sense in arguing over conferences since we all know who is the cream of the crop, lol.

I noticed that the overall average attendance for conferences had the SEC with more attendance even though the Big 10 has 3 stadiums that are bigger than any SEC stadium.

Northern Ohio, Western PA, and most all of Michigan beg to differ.

This is quite comical given that Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania are in worse shape than almost anyone in the country.

There's too much competition up here for the few remaining jobs that exist. The talent isn't the problem, it's the availability of jobs, but there's plenty for the taking in the south, which is where most Big Ten grads are dominating. LOL

Now that's certainly one way to look at it sleeper. But couldn't one say the Big Ten alumni ran the region into the ground and the jobs simply moved to states that weren't so poorly run, and then with that argument point out those states are better economically and the Big Ten alumni are scurrying to the south to work for someone who will actually give them opportunity?

The answer lies somewhere in the middle.

probably because of having better weather in the later months, casual fans of shitty teams are more likely to attend games in the SEC

partly true, but Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan St. and even Iowa don't sell out in the first half of the season. I've seen all of those teams play in front of a lot of empty seats.

purdue and Iowa I have to say you are wrong. the others you are partially right. when northwestern plays indiana, no one goes.

Purdue's capacity is 62,500. 47,551 in attendance for home opener against Toledo last year.

I will say, you could be right about Iowa. This was the game I remember watching and seeing some empty seats, but seemed like a lot more than that. Could have been season ticket holders not going.

Went to Mich State game the last year OSU played in east lansing there were a few empty seats in upper corner of upper deck. A friend scalped tickets for 10$

Their attendance is like a roller coaster. Didn't use to be like that, but it's crazy, like of course Notre Dame is a large crowd, but they had large crowds at other stupid games, but their attendance died at the end of the season. and Illinois only had 2 games under cap, and those were in Nov and Dec

Not that surprised. They built a small stadium, and the excitement of a brand new stadium will wear off after 2-3 years. They didn't sniff selling out the Metrodome on probably over 90% of their games.
