I'm looking for some advice from fellow Chatters. I'm want to create a website for my personal training business that I'm going to start real soon. Problem is this-- I don't have any experience with creating a website. Anybody know of the best or a few good places to register a domain name and any good places to sign up for web hosting. How much money should I anticipate on spending? Once I get that figured out, I'd actually have to become educated on creating the website. Any and all advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Best domain registrar: Godaddy. If you know what URL you want, go there and buy it now. If you use the code "SOCCER99" you can snag a domain name for $1.17 (promotion going on until the World Cup is over, I think).
Best hosting: Someone like Bluehost. I think $7/month gets you unlimited storage/bandwidth. I used to use ix web hosting before I switched to my own VPS and it was decent.
Best software for building your site: Drupal. Hands down the best content management system out there.
Feel free to ask me any questions you run into.

Don't use the words Free or Huddle in your website name.

This is the case if you are hiring someone to build your site for you.
As far as domain registration and hosting, though, it doesn't make much sense to spend a ton of money on them.

Right. I don't think there is anything wrong with that as it appears he is also just creating his business. What's the point of investing a ton of money in a website for a personal training business right off the bat?

This site might be minor league but the sites I build for work are anything but.
