Government exists at the consent of the people. It is not an excuse for continued interference or attempts to influence/takeover entire industries. It is not an excuse for injecting his version of 'social justice' into a free market system thereby handicapping our products in global markets. Government exists to insure domestic tranquilty, and the free flow of commerce...not to incite class warfare or unnecessarily affect/meddle in markets.

Obama's TV adds are ripping Romney (and some of it justifiably so) forsending jobs overseas, have any of you looked back at Obama's voting record while in the Senate to see what kind of legislation he supported? The pot is calling the kettle black (no pun intended) Obama has had 4 years to do a lot of the things that he says he will do now and has done nothing to help the economy, nothing to help the failing medicare and social security system, done nothing to end the middle east war (moving troops from Iraq to Afghanistan is not bringing them home). He instead has at the least Quadrupled the National Debt, raised hidden taxes on many of the commodities that people buy everyday, forced a terrible Healthcare system that most don't want and the coutry can't afford and now says he will put the construction workers back to work building highways and bridges. I'm not the brightest guy around but where will the money come from for that project? It can only come from 1of 2 places 1) Higher taxes 2) Higher debt, which of these great options do you choose? I'm don't like Romney and I don't think that he will be any better than Obama in solving the countries many issues, but we have already seen in the past 4 years that Obama can't do the job so at least give someone else a shot. There are those who say (Obama) that Bush and the Republicans had things so screwed up that no one could fix it in 4 years. To that I say Bull----. Who idividually is better off under Obama than Bush? Not many, maybe some illegal aliens and lazy F------ who don't want to work, but the working man certainly is not. Obama will win re-election, I have no doubt about that, he has too much money to spend (about a billion dollars) on negative campaign adds and such. Surprisingly these things work (because people are not informed and believe everything they hear on TV). I can say with reasonable certainty that after 4 more years of Obama the debt will be so high that we may never get out from under it and because of the debt the economy will continue to be slow. As I said earlier I don't think it will make a huge difference who wins in November but a message needs to be sent that if you make a bunch of promises and keep none of them that you will be a one term President. We need to hold our Senators and House members to the same standard. If things don't improve start voting those People out. A couple point that must be conceded to President Obama is that he may be the most charismatic President I've ever seen and the guy knows how to run a campaign.

Who the fuck ever said "directly responsible" or mostly responsible or any other variant. All that has been said is that the idea that anyone "pulls themselves up by their own bootstraps" isn't true. It does not happen. That in no way takes away from the great ideas, work, and companies that people have and build.

It wasn't just what was said, but how it was said. As I stated earlier, it was all about what "you" did (note, not Obama), it was arguably the worst gaffe in his term, and he's had several. It was so stupid even the WaPo is calling him out on it.

Have you seen how bad investors want to lend money to the federal government right now? If Mitt Romney ran the United States the way he ran companies he bought at Bain Capital, he would be borrowing to the hilt right now as the money is basically free. You're concerned about the National Debt but if we got to full employment it wouldn't be a problem. Japan has twice the debt we have as a percentage of GDP and are still able to borrow at very low rates.

We're probably going to have to cover the material again because no business man worth his salt would be so afraid of the skinny lawyer not to risk their capital if there was demand for the products. Take Apple for example; despite an overall lack of demand in the economy their has been strong demand for their new products throughout the Obama presidency and they have not been afraid of his socialist regime. American entrepreneurs who see an opportunity to meet a demand don't hold back in fear of an incompetent buffoon who's never run a lemonade stand.

Apple seems to me to be a rare exception- worldwide demand for cutting-edge products. That's not even close to representative of 99% of businesses (especially small ones) and corporations in this country.

I don't think we disagree. There is not enough demand to warrant investing generally. Lack of Demand is holding us back not fear of Barry Saetoro.
