So I have a lot of DVD's that I don't use and are currently stored at my dad's house. He suggested that I pawn them since they have been sitting there for a while and I can't take them to San Diego with me.

So for the experts. What do you typically get money wise for pawning dvds?

You'd be better off eBayin' them.

You might be better off selling them since I'm guessing you'll be gone for more than 90 days.

Or try to sell them on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum here.

Do you want to sell them to a pawn shop, or are you actually looking to pawn them? When you pawn something they give you money in exchange for an item which you then have a certain period of time to come and retrieve at the cost of the loan plus some interest.

I couldn't imagine getting much more than a buck or two per DVD if you were selling them to a pawn shop though, and they may only take select DVD's. You may be better off selling them on half.com or Amazon.

There are some places like GameStop I believe that also will take them. I never have pawned anything but I trade in stuff at GameStop frequently.

I want to sell them. Sorry should have been more specific. I just want to get rid of them. I don't even care if I get $1 or $2 a piece. If I had the time I would look into ebay or half.com. I just don't and can't lug them with me to San Diego.

Gamestop would work as well. I wouldn't mind credit there as I'd rather have video games.

I'd call GameStop first to make sure they take them. Some stores do not I believe. Also check for like a Record Exchange place or something like that.

Bad thing is you won't get jack shit for them at the stores.

You'd be able to make a little more on Amazon or eBay, but unless someone would be at home to mail them out for you and give you the money when it was done, that's a little tough.

As mentioned, can't hurt to list them here http://www.ohiochatter.com/showthread.php/6790-DVD-Blu-ray-Buy-Sell-Trade-thread... and see if anyone bites in the next couple of days.

Find a local place that buys DVD's. Gamestop won't give you shit for them.

At this late date and you leaving so soon, maybe try to find one of those "we sell on ebay" places that are starting to open, take them all there and let them see what they can get for them and split the earnings.
