I like how ESPN has this on the front of the website.

It's over guys. Sorry.

Germany appeared to be running away with this and now we've got a game.

Just as I type this they nearly tie it!

ESPN is visited by a whole lot more people than Americans. Why the fuck would they stop covering the largest event in the world??? That is fucking retarded.

The only reason to feature it now, clearly is because it's on the ESPN network.

After the US loss, they should not be leading with England vs. Germany. At least keep the picture of the US team on the ground out front and put a note about England/Germany playing.

What should they lead with? Seriously? I bet more people are going there for World Cup than Wimbledon or any of the given baseball games today.

As I said, they should keep the US picture up when you first get to the page and then mention below it that England/Germany is on ESPN.

The USA losing is still a big enough event aftermath to feature today.

This just looks pathetic that we're trying to cling to these games after the US got bounced.

Couldnt disagree more, but thats ok. You are the worlds #1 source for sports, you are going to lead with the worlds biggest event. PLENTY of people still care a TON about the rest of this World Cup. It isnt like the world stop watching when their country is out, thus the near billion who watch the final.

Okay, the US lost, and I know I was upset just as much as the next guy. However, if ESPN focuses on that loss, it'll seem like the World Cup for Americans is over, and they'll lose viewers. They need to inform people that this game is going on, and it's between two very quality sides. There will be some amazing soccer played by very quality sides upcoming in the knockout stages. ESPN needs to focus on that, or they'll lose viewers, and the money they paid for these games will seemingly go to waste. Plus, it's easier for Americans to relax and watch now that the pressure from the team is off.

Now, I hope that this World Cup spikes up viewership in all modes of international soccer in the US. I want to be able to watch more EPL/La Liga games on ESPN, so hopefully they can acquire more rights if this sparks people to watch it. Also, I'm seriously bummed the UEFA CL got bought by FOX because I can only watch a few games, and I didn't like the quality of the games I saw on FSN. Though, admittingly, it was nice to see the CL Final on broadcast TV.

This game has been pretty exciting, and the first half was one of the most exciting halves I've seen during this WC, and except for a few halves I've had to miss, I've seen them all.

4-1 Germany. They look damn good.

Another reason I am not satisfied at all with the U.S.' result though... England looked like shit pretty much the whole tournament.

After two counter-attack goals for the Germans, England is done. Man, the refs did England one with that screw over because it changed the second half tactics significantly for England, which had them opened up for those two goals...

Knowing English fans they will blame the loss on the missed call.

I normally never disagree with you. But right now I don't think it's possible to disagree any more with you.

It's just another attempt to push soccer on America.

I don't totally hate the sport but I hate when they push stuff like this down everybody's throat.

Now that the US is eliminated, the majority of people in the US are going to turn their attention to other sports whether it's baseball, NASCAR, the NBA free agency, whatever. You know that's true.

I wouldn't say a majority of the people will not watch cuase US is out. THe world cup is a badass tourney regardless of the teams in it. Plus, NASCAR, baseball, and the NBA free agency being the only things going on in terms of sports only makes me want to watch the world cup even more lol those sports suck.
