I got a job in Fostoria which I will be starting in a couple weeks and I am going to be living in Findlay. Was wondering from those who may have lived there what some nice appartment complexes are or any other recommendations you could give me. Thanks in advance.

Commute from Perrysburg, unless you want to live in that trashy area.

Kill yourself.

No really though, it would help if I knew how old you were. Because the college has nice places to live in for rather cheap prices, but that obviously is for a certain age group.

As far away from where it floods as possible.

Ben Roethlisberger's parents have a bedroom to rent out...prefereably to someone who won't embarrass the shit out of them like the last guy who stayed there.

I guess commuting from Findlay is better than living in Fo-troit.

I don't have a negative view of Findlay. They, like many other cities their size, have experienced a problem or two along the way but I find Findlay to be a relatively nice small city that has many things to offer and isn't a bad place at all to live in. The University is a plus and there are some nice recreational opportunities close by. I'm not sure what the cost of housing is in Findlay, but we know several couples who have lived in that area and we have never heard any of them be critical of the city itself. The biggest issue in Findlay is the serious flooding problem when the Blanchard River goes nuts and some serious damage has occurred. The City Fathers have been working on possible solutions, but for now, as long as you aren't living in that particular area you'll be ok.

You forgot in a van down by the river.

The van was washed away in the last flood...

The flooding isn't as bad as it seems for housing. There is small footprint that floods regularly. The 100-year flood was the exception, and many towns were flooded during that.

As for the same places that get flooded every time, you build by a river in an old swamp land with low elevation, of course it will flood. Seems like common sense but instead we will try to "fix" it.

Guess I should have pointed a couple things out. Probably looking for an appartment not terribly close to the university. I'm 24 and really don't want to hear parties going on every other night to the wee hours of the morning.

Yup, shook my head too. I've lived here since 96 and haven't had a single problem with anybody here. As far as "Trashy" goes I just don't see it with all the expensive homes going in.

We're happy here. We haven't had a single problem since moving here in 96. The median house here is in the 125K range. My only complaint is people drive like morons here, but I guess that's about everywhere now...
