I had started following several tv shows or sports people but then I'd not check my twitter for a few days or a week then log in and see 150 messages so now I just use mine to update my facebook on the go.

Shaq is pretty entertaining and I was following Ian Poulter for a while but he updated about every single thing he did and it got to be annoying. Other than those, various athletes, Mike and Mike, Sportsnation, Michelle Beadle, etc. I don't think I have ever tweeted myself, just use it to keep up with whats going on in the sports world.

I put the app on my phone but I've not added many people. I added Conan just as kind of a test. Seems like kind of a ginormous waste of time to get caught up reading a bunch of mostly random, empty thoughts. Might be worthwhile to follow some economic/market/politics commentators, though. Basically I feel it's only worthwhile to follow people who offer insightful opinions on a fairly narrow topic range.

It's mildly entertaining if you're following the right people.

Eric Wright is definitely a trip on there, as is Ochocinco..

Also, following the guys who cover the NBA, MLB, and NFL are fun, especially around the draft or trade deadlines..

I've "tweeted" back and forth with several people.. Just had an exchange with Johnny Flynn a couple days ago.

It's definitely not something I'd waste too much time doing, but in my downtime at work I definitely read through some tweets.

Nick Mangold is pretty entertaining, and Adam Shefter and Chris Mortenson are real informative. Dana White does a lot of cool things with his Twitter too.

ESPN Cleveland
The NFL
Chad OchoCinco
The Real Shaq
Jim Rome
ABC News

Those are the ones I enjoy or read the most. Like others have said I have followed some people but they just get annoying as fuck updating every little thing they do.

Twitter does seem to be a source for up to the minute news headlines if you are some place without another source of information. Other than that I find it a waste of time.

After reading this thread I decided to expand my following list, a few ND folks, ESPN, and political figures. Hope I don't regret this.

Ironically I think ^^^ was short enough to be tweeted.

I'll add Lance Armstrong during the TdF, at least - along with Phil Ligget and Bob Roll (who I used to follow on the velonews website).

Gotta go look for some good political pundits and market hacks. I figure Jim Cramer could be an interesting guy to follow.

Shefter
Mortensen
The Orange & Brown Report

I don't get on there much. Seems like the only time I get "followers" is when it's some chick trying to pimp her porn site.
