I don't want to spend more than 2k. I'll customize it myself at the shop

That's what I'm thinkin' about doing. I might just try to buy a frame somewhere, and let my bro-in-law fix it up.

My family is actually looking for one for our cottage on Put-in-Bay. We used to have one that a family who rented our house owned but they bought their own place on the island so now we need to buy one. So I'm looking for one either in the Columbus area or the Catawba/Sandusky/Put-in-Bay area.

Depending on what you're willing to pay, Eagle Carts in Lancaster has a nice selection. Used carts starting at about $2,500.

The big problem in the used cart market:
1- Golf Courses are holding onto the carts for a much longer time. They would turn them over every 4-5 years when golf was booming.... now... not so much. Operators are watching the bottom line at every corner to try and stay in business right now. This has really affected the amount of available used carts on the market... escalating the prices of those used carts that are available.
2- Aging baby boomer retirement communities (ie "The Villages") are gobbling up much of the used cart market... also further escalating the price of available used carts.
Good luck in your search... I would recommend a club car gas cart if at all possible.... it is a very dependable golf car and parts are available.

If you're gonna be climbing hills and stuff, you definitely want a gas cart! Not to mention replacing the batteries on an electric cart costs a fortune!
