Honestly, this is kind of a scary development. It is another weapon, another nail-in-the-coffin for women that want to damage/avenge guys/boyfriends. As mentioned, women could forget they have it in. But if you are trying to cause harm to a guy, saying he raped you and ohh there's this thing as proof you know a jury will eat that up.

On the other hand, if it doesn't break the skin, I'm wondering if you're wearing a condom if it would work as advertised. I think as mentioned the finger will also foil this device.

If a girl needs to use this, she probably needs to re-think her choices and behavior. Outside of some nasty in-home stuff, I can't think of a logical reason a girl would use this.

Well, sometimes rape isn't by an offender that knows the victim, but I get what you are eluding to. Also, I believe this was developed in S. Africa where rape is extremely high. I think that is why a woman would need to use it, to deter potential rapists. JMO

DWC provided a perfectly good explanation. That makes sense. In the US, I don't see many reasons for it since, presumably, they aren't going to where it around all the time on the 1 in 1million random chance of being raped by an unknown.
