Is there a trade out there that makes great sense for everybody? I'd target the Jazz, and try to send West (cut), Andy, and maybe a filler. Andy seems like a guy Sloan would like, and cutting money to the Jazz is something they like. Even then, they'd need a center with the MLE, or find a way to get a good center by sending out Jamison.
These are the 2 deals I would be exploring extensively if I am Chris Grant:
Al Jefferson from Minnesota. They have stated they want to free up playing time for Kevin Love and their GM stated they would be willing to trade Al. A deal centered around Delonte West (who could be bought out immediately) and some combination of other expiring contracts could free up $ to allow them to add players at a position of need. Would also see if they would be interested in Mo Williams to provide them some scoring off the bench and to help make salaries work, try to get Ramon Sessions in return to play back-up PG. People can knock Mo, but he can score the basketball and was an all-star.
Monta Ellis from the GSW. have been interested in Anderson in the past, and have been rumored to be in trade talks in the past. Also, Stephon Curry is the Truth, and the Warriors want to turn the team over to him. IMO Curry and Ellis are to much alike to play in the same back court. Both are undersized 2 guards that can also play some PG. The Warriors could add a C/PF that can get up and run and defend. I know he is similar to Biendris, but I think it would work. Could also offer up a future #1 as well as another guard or forward not named JJ Hickson.
Line-up would be:
Ellis, MLE SG, LBJ, JJ, Jefferson
Bench: Jamison, Re-sign Shaq, Powe, Sessions, Green, Boobie
Would be a very quick and athletic starting line-up, would be interesting to see play in showtime type offense with LBJ doing most of the ball handling.
Will this happen? I'm sure not, but I would be trying hard if I am the Cavs to see if it is possible.
