Last night I saw the Charlie Daniels Band live on the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman auditorium, and it was the greatest thing I've ever seen! Crowd went absolutely freaking nuts. It really is a once in a lifetime experience to go there and I got goosebumps just walking in, but to top that off by seeing a legend like Charlie Daniels play "This ain't no rag, it's a flag", "What this world needs is a few more Rednecks" and of course, "The Devil went down to Georgia". Just thought I'd tell anyone who has never been, if you ever get the chance to go see anything at the Ryman, DO IT. It's well worth the cost of a ticket.

Was in Nashville a couple weeks ago, but didn't make it to the Ryman. Going back in September, so I'm hoping to check it out then. Was Charlie scheduled to play or did he just show up?

I am a huge fan of The CDB. Saw them a few years ago. Glad you were able to catch the show.

Yeah he was the headliner (i.e. last to play lol) and let me tell you, he can still sing for being pretty far up there in age.

I got to meet and hang out with him for a while several years ago. He's actually very polite, made people laugh and feel comfortable and talked about his wife Hazel (how she's an amazing woman). I have a picture of him sort of standing behind me with his arm around my shoulders. Good times.
He gave me his book and autographed it for me, plus a pic.
